Parliament’s guidelines set new foundation for foreign policy: Fazl | DAWN.COM
ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief
Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said that the parliament had set new foundation for independent foreign policy to safeguard national interests and sovereignty.
Speaking to media representatives,
he said the JUI-F has played important role in omitting objectionable recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS).
Fazlur Rehman said that imported foreign policies were implemented in the past but now for the first time the parliament had given guidelines for chalking out a foreign policy reflecting aspiration of people of the country.
He said now Pakistani territory would not be used for transportation of arms and ammunition,
adding it was his party’s recommendations that no private security contractors and intelligence operatives would be allowed to operate in the Pakistani territory.
He said the JUI-F would resist if the authorities did not implement parliament’s guidelines in letter and spirit.
This Maulana is the definition of a lota.
Lethal or non-lethal aid, what difference does it make to us? Supplies are going through Pakistan, lethal or non-lethal, same thing, it only matters to NATO.
maulana is going take the applauds that he was the one who made this lethal, non-lethal thing possible. Well , I would like to ask, how would you check the An-124's and C-5's passing overhead you , while coming from Qatar, to check whether they are lethal or non-lethal cargo inside?
How would you check thousands of trucks?
As for the underlined part, well maulana ji, nobody asks you before bringing in a CIA agent!!!
The only way to ensure the eviction of CIA agents is to cancel all american visas, and issue them after a new background check/ purpose of visit. Or else, nobody is gonna voluntarily come and say hey, we are CIA agents, and we are going home!
In the end, the decision on Foreign policy is of the government, foreign policy is never a thing for the parliament.
BTW, there used to be a CIA guy the foreign departures in Islamabad airport (near the check-in counters), is he still there?
