Beijing: Efforts by India and China to minimise their differences on a host of issues have "undeniably borne fruit" but the Sino-Pakistan relations as well as Tibet continue to be a "stumbling block" in forging harmonious relations, a Chinese strategic analyst has said.
"There remains a strong prospect of the emergence of a new 'Chindia' dynamic between the two powers. In the minds of many, the two nations have no other choice but to be friends," Ye Halin, research fellow of institute of Asia-Pacific Studies under Chinese Academy Of Social Sciences said.
He wrote in an article published in state run Beijing Review commemorating the establishment of the 60th year of diplomatic relations between the two countries that Pakistan continues to be a "stumbling block in Sino-Indian relations" as India feels "uneasiness at China's warm relations with Pakistan."
New Delhi fears that close relations between China and Pakistan will cast a pall over Sino-Indian affairs?not to mention Indian national security, he said.
"The Tibet issue has long been the main thorn in the history of Sino-Indian relations. For one thing, India has recognised Tibet as belonging to China," he said.
