.. and now people are defending mr 10% by rubbishing IK's claim. haha

Actually its more of a defence of Pakistan's policy towards the Taliban, and a disagreement with IK's suggested policies (if any), rather than a defence of Zardari.

Zardari is still deeply unpopular in Pakistan, but the recent World Opinion Polls showed that Pakistanis overwhelmingly (70+%) approved of the the GoP's current policy in Swat, and over 90% saw the Taliban as a threat to Pakistan, with more than 80% calling them a critical threat.

I think you should try to engage in discourse, and post something constructive that adds to the discussion, rather than the pointless one liner in this post here.

Imran Khan lost his sense as soon as his wife left him. He needs to go relax himself and come back later!

For some reason Indian members feel it their duty to post all sort of rubbish as long as it brings up some type of a division within Pakistan...maybe its therapeutic for them. :disagree:

imran khan will always remain in the margins of politics. what a shame he is such a honest but a disillusion man. he should probably stick to social work and leave politics he is only destroying his image in pakistan

Errr, guys before you pounce on Imran Khan, do note that the 1.5Bn/yr came with a price. Its not just the military, but its all of our ideals, that have been sold out for this money.

I pointed this $1.5Bn per year deal way back when it was being made, the deal includes this sinister paragraph.

... the Government of Pakistan has made with regard to ceasing support, including by any elements within the Pakistani military or its intelligence agency, to extremist and terrorist groups, particularly to any group that has conducted attacks against the United States or coalition forces in Afghanistan, including Afghanistan National Security Forces, or against the territory of India or the people of India

If you get down and dirty with this paragraph, they are asking us to CEASE support for terrorism. You can't cease something unless you're already doing it. Thereby Zardari and Co. has pretty much signed on a document saying we WERE terrorists.

So whereby I may disagree with Imran too on his point of view about the current ongoing military operation, this deal was certainly not a freebie. One day America WILL come to collect.

Actually Asim I had heard that this bit of text in the deal had been subject to change after much indignation from Pakistan. But I can't recall the details exactly so maybe someone else can clarify...

look up "pak-US relationship" thread

That was the days after US. attack on Afghanistan on turned down the custody of osama BIN laden by taliban.
Imran khan was arguing about current situation in Talat Hussain talk show at Ptv.
He was continuously denying the involvement of OBL in 911 attacks. He said US. must show evidence to taliban against OBL before attack on Afghanistan.
In reply Talat Hussain made him dumb when he told him about refusal of mullah omer to handover the terrorists who were punished death penalty by Supreme court of Pakistan.
riaz basra had assisnated the Iranian consulate Sadiq Ganji infront of hundreds of people. He was admitted and declare declared death penalty in Supreme court. He fled from jail and get asylum in Afghanistan by mullah omer.

Imran khan all fallacies in current affairs and politics always come false.
He may be "Confused khan" or "Yahodi paid Khan"
His role in politics is identical with jamatay islami.

The only thing that was changed was, that the word INDIA was removed... and replaced with the phrase "neighboring countries". The reasoning the Americans gave for the change was "Oh the Pakistanis would get irked seeing India written there". So they just 'kinda satisfied' our ego and we blindly signed to this ridiculous deal. I don't know if they THINK we are a bunch of Chays or we have really become one.

GovTrack: H.R. 1886: Text of Legislation, Reported in House

Oh and it is now left up to the President of the US to make any swooping declaration that Pakistan IS a terrorism supporter.

The limitations on this deal is quite damning:

a determination by the President at the beginning of each fiscal year that the Government of Pakistan is continuing to cooperate with the United States in efforts to dismantle supplier networks relating to the acquisition of nuclear weapons-related materials, including, as necessary, providing direct access to Pakistani nationals associated with such networks;

Now we have already refused access to AQ Khan and that means we are already in violation of this. So its just a matter of when they feel like making this determination official.

preventing cross-border attacks into neighboring countries; and
How can you prevent something there is no control of? If some random guy from Pakistan attacks an Indian, then we would again be in violation of this.

strengthening counter-terrorism and anti-money laundering laws.
This is the only limiting requirement that should have been there.

We all might find this operation in Swat acceptable, but who here is under the illusion that all of it stops here.

I am sorry, but this is totally unacceptable. There are no 'random guys' anywhere in the world which will infiltrate the border & attack another country with full blooded weapon gear. The terrorist activities in Kashmir, Mumbai & other parts of India have not been carried out by 'random guys'.

And if at all there is no state support from Pakistan, which India doubts, it is you who are responsible to make sure that these 'random guys' do not use your territory for terror activities against India. How easily the promises of Gen Musharraf have been forgotten! The canard of non state actors using non state explosives & weapons against India is just that, a canard.

What is a canard is you adding 'state explosives and weapons' in that sentence to try and implicate the Pakistani state in the Mumbai attacks.

This sort of blame game and refusal to accept the fact that no evidence linking the Pakistani State to the Mumbai attacks is typical of the attitude of denial that exists in India, and how anti-Pakistan hatred has permeated the psych of some to where even the lack of evidence or motive does not prevent some from hurling accusations at Pakistan.

Oh, so that must mean the BLA and Taliban are supported by India then.:agree:
The terrorist activities in Kashmir, Mumbai & other parts of India have not been carried out by 'random guys'.
The insurgency in Kashmir, that Pakistan has now hleped to almost eliminate, is not terrorism, unless you want to also call the deliberate killings, rapes and torture of innocents in Kashmir at the hands of Indian SF's 'terrorism' as well (terrorize the population to not voice calls for separatism).
