One of the most important international languages is English Language. It is considered as a requirement for studying abroad for several decades. In particular, most of the textbooks in all the different disciplines are in English, including business textbooks.

It hardly matters about primary school syllabus and most of the children go to private schools anyway.

Nations mostly thrive in local language anyway. The french can't say Hello in English, the german's don't like English, The Russians, Japanese, Koreans and Chinese all thrived in their native languages and we are talking about primary school. Please don't worry as children will always have English in Schools and we would have changed so much if learning English was the only criteria

What about the Dutch?

Learning English is important.

It gives us access to USA, Canada, UK, and Australia.

.
it should be secondary otherwise you will be tearing out your hair trying to talk to people like your elders who cant speak english only urdu. it divides us.
plus when our pak home people or imigrant parents speak english they add their own meaning to it and this just confuses everyone.

I don't think his post is offensive unless its meant to be sarcism? I have had friends from India who also shared similar opinion such as the city of Bangalore where people from whole India comes to live and work and need to communicate in English as Tamils may not understand Bengali and Malayalam may not understand Punjabi

Agreed.
But it was sarcasm because noone from foreign nations comes to South India like they do in case of UK,US etc.Except in some cases where Iranians ,Afghans etc that comes to Bengluru for studies.

I am going to disagree with "french can't say Hello in English"- having been there a few times I found the French can speak English but answer in French. I guess they harbour some sort of pride for their language. Same with the Germans , as for the Chinese, Koreans etc they all live in their own world and for a long time were shut in devoid of outside contact.

You are lucky then... I wasted about 2 hours trying to ask... How to go to Gare du Nord train station  lesson was learned that I must learn basic french or know the area before travelling. They can communicate in Spanish, German, Italian or Dutch depending on parts of France but prefer not to learn or speak in English

How many children in Pakistan ever learned to speak English in primary schools? You learn basic English in secondary school and enhances your communication skills in College

Pure BS, EVERYONE in Sweden speaks English.
40 years ago, it was not widespread in Germany or France.
Nowadays speaking English works in most parts of Europe.
