The Muslim Right favored partition. The Hindu Right was divided (both in Congress and HM) The Muslim far right was against Partition. So was Congress.

Same thing would have happened. Tilaks were a drop in the ocean. The British would still have left around 46-47. Probably with a little more bloodshed. There was little militancy in India - isolated incidents were all that were there. Most of the population were docile and had no means to resist. Only the Armed Forces could do that.

The availability of weapons played a major issue. That is why the Armed forces mutinies in 46 were the last nail. Other than that, the Labour Party rule, coupled with decolonization the world over... it would have happened around the same time. Unfortunate, but probably this would have happened.

according to some history i have read, India had crossed over to East Pakistani territory around 21-22 November 1971, while our Govt responded on 3 Dec 1971 with Operation Chengiz Khan, and that was when the Objectives of the IAF were changed to "Complete Air Superiority Over the EPAF"

Ghaziabad, Jun 11 (UNI) Observing that Pakistan believes attacking India is its birthright, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has said a befitting response is needed to change the mindset of Islamabad.

I am not agreed with Mr. Parikar and i have solid reasons for that

First of all Pakistan since smiling Buddha test have strong staunch if India sign / agrees on CNBT we will sign but despite we hav't test our nuke weapons India refuses to oblige

Pakistan before nuke tests and after express strong desire for nuke free subcontinent but again India refuses

And Above all After creating / developing nuke weapons Pakistan didn’t demonstrate our capability but again Indian pushes us to a corner after Shakti tests to test and demonstrate our capability.

I mentioned very few points...which clearly show who the agressor.

And any sane person who has some knowledge of history didn’t agrees with Mr. Parikar

MP should stop issuing useless statements and must hold the dignity of the portfolio of defence. And remember Mr. Parrikar in nearly 1 and half years, you have no achievements to celebrate. Rafale has not been signed, Bullet proof jackets pending, Artillery trials just going on and everything in etc etc mode. Adding to the rumours is the killing of LCA by bringing in Gripen. (I hope its a rumour).

The only good thing he did was forcing the IAF to shut their front and backs to accept an decent reliable fighter in Tejas.

Mistimed statement by our defence minister again is it?
Neither Pakistan nor India is going to attack each other in the foreseeable future. Although Pakistan needs to stop its territory for anti-India activity and thats a must to even start working together towards a constructive future.
