Couple of Meters across ? . Mortar is a part of small ranged artillery which can be placed back and adjusted and then fired on the fence. There's already shortage of fence on LoC , and definitely we don't need to destroy normal fence , but smart fence could be a problem .

Do you know, what a CEP of unguided 81 mm/120 mortar shell is ?

If CEP of mortar is 100 meters at range of 5 km, that mean if 10 shells are fired at a circle of 100 meters radius, only 5 shells will land in that circle.(and this after the fact, all ranging has done, wind has been accounted for.

Now calculate, how many shells would be required to target a section of fence which just 2 meters across.
