The authorities in Balochistan have closed the Pak-Afghan border crossing at Chaman for three days — July 24-26 — as part of the security measures taken to ensure peaceful conduct of elections across the province.

"No Afghan national would be allowed to enter into Pakistan during elections," Balochistan Frontier Corps officials told DawnNewsTV. Security at the porous border has also been tightened to maintain law and order situation during the elections, they added.

Moreover, internet services in Killa Abdullah, the bordering district with Afghanistan, will remain suspended during the elections. In addition to Killa Abdullah, the internet services in Awaran, Khuzdar, Turbat and other sensitive areas will also be suspended.

In Balochistan, 1,768 polling stations have been declared “extremely sensitive” and 768 declared “sensitive” out of almost 5,000 polling stations.

Balochistan police DIG Razzaq Cheema said 6,300 policemen and 3,500 FC personnel have been deployed in and around Quetta to carry out security duties during the elections. “A control room has been set up at DIG police office to monitor the polling process in the city,” Cheema said.

Besides, in the northern districts of Balochistan, more than 15,000 FC personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful conduct of elections. Moreover, police and levies personnel would also be deployed outside polling stations.

There is already a terrorist attack in Turbat today! Fktards , got no concept of national security.
Some of you people are very disrepectful towards the military...seriously.
Considering the amount of threats Pak army faces, treacherous politicians at home, mass corruption permeating society, terrorists, criminals, landlords and unruly tribes, and its own PM and ministers acting as fifth columnists for external enemies who in size, resources technology etc outmatch us enormously, then its expected to do jobs like policing and protecting elections blah blah blah
When the military could take the easy route and join the b*astard politicians/police/civil servants in looting they're doing their duty and everyone elses duty against all odds, and that too on a tiny bloody budget, but still that ain't enough? We don't deserve such a good military. The one institution that cares for the public is treated like sh*t while the real scum are given a free pass

Nobody is taking potshot at armed forces as institution, its the libturds at top, the decision makers who are fking this nation up.

Who brought in Zardari to power? Who blatantly rigged 2013 election to bring in Nawaz Shareef? More you think about it, more you want to bang your head against the wall.

Personally I don't believe the military brought either of them to power, I think it was more pragmatism on the military's part, when your weak you bide your time, wait things out. That's why I think the military let Zardari into power, but was for NS I agree I don't know why they let him in, maybe it was the same thing? He came in at 2013 when our situation internally and externally was fragile, 5 years on we're in a much stronger position, hence NS being taken out by the SC with military backing. I think the military's doing a good job and going in the right direction but its gonna take time, I don't think any other military of any other nation could have done such a good job

You are highly misinformed.

You think these liberal generals don't have personal liabilities in foreign lands? What was NRO? Who did it? Who stopped SM Zafar from challenging Zardari nomination papers as president of Pakistan?

For the sake of our nation, we need to stop making holly cows. Anybody who fks up, intentionally , needs to be put to sword. Time is running out, this nation cannot afford anymore intentional fk ups.

Looks like your right, my sincere apologies, and in this case and all others like it, I agree the b*stard traitors civilian or military should be gutted. I support Dr Zaid Hamid's idea of covert assassinations.
