One question how is an air base home to nuclear assets? Pakistan Nuclear action system is unknown. in case of a nuclear strike Pakistan uses already assigned fighter jets or deliver missile after the decision is made it is unknown so to asses which base is Pakistan's nuclear base you first have to know what is the acting nuclear system of Pakistan.

April 4th Update. it appears no service roads are being made, apart from some interchanges, everything is done. There are no service areas and their is still direct access to all the shops/ pumps on the roadside. M-9 Motorway..

It is explained that perhaps Pakistan by agreements is unable to use F16s for strike missions within Indian territory they are only for defensive roles within Pak territory. No air to ground missiles have so far been operational with Pak F16s.

The Mirage is old platform and only platform has viable Raad ALCM with range of 350+KM. The platform is old and shall have it's own disadvantages in time of need.

Raad is so far not operational with JF17s.

( My question to knowledgeable members is how PAF can use F16s for Nuclear strikes without any CM/restrictions by USA.)

Raad II was displayed last time with 550 km range bit since then no details not sure if it was displayed in 2019?

Let's hope PAF doesn't start a Fazaia Housing Scheme here. Keep the families either in Hyderabad or Karachi. Furthermore, it's a national park, we should be careful with the environment.

base is huge and they are building residential area which is not bad also . i wish we have some more bases like this . i have just watched on google earth base design runways taxiways bunkers all are perfect like state of the are design of any airbase . i am loving it its a true modern base after shahbaz

Wish they could do the same to PAF Peshawar. It's in the middle of a city, where both the base/assets and the citizens are threatened by its location.
Itd be a good idea idea if CAA and PAF jointly set up a multipurpose airport, probably near Sawabi since it has the CPEC infrastructure.

i am against base/airport idea bro . i wish peshawer got new airport and PAF got some new airbase far away from city . i thing its funds dear we are not that rich country . or nazuk halat to hamesha rehty hain hahahaha

It would be better if the base is moved from Pesh altogether. There are plenty of open areas surrounded by hills (good natural defense) near the foothills of buner and malakand.

A swat expressway extension would result in shortening the distance to that base. I can reach my village (on the outskirts of mardan within visual distance of malakand) within 100 minutes from ISB. A base somewhere there could be easily accessed by road in two hours tops from ISB/Kamra.

It will also have lower distance to IOK


Other option would be to go down south of Pesh and upgrade Kohat airport to a fully operational main air base. However, Kohat is also populated.
