F-15C entered service with CFT capability. Initially known as FAST packs (Fuel And Sensor Tactical), each unit carried an additional 849 gallons (3,214 liters) of fuel and were first tested on the F-15B in 1974. Today only Israeli F-15C/Ds regularly use CFT's. All U.S. F-15Es, and Strike Eagle export variants such as the IAF and Singapore models, are fitted with CFT's and require modification to fly without them. The FASTPack was originally intended to carry a navigational and targeting infrared sensor system (thus "Fuel And Sensor"); however, the F-15 simply began carrying LANTIRN pods for ground-attack missions instead.

Last batch of U.S. F-16 fighter jets delivered to Pakistan20:55, December 13, 2010

The final six F-16 fighter jets arrived in Pakistan from the United States on Monday, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said.

Pakistan signed a contract with the U.S. administration in 2005- 06 for the acquisition of 18 F-16 C/D Block 52 aircraft and the latest arrival marked the complete handover of all 18 planes, the PAF said.

The PAF said the aircraft arrived at PAF Base Shahbaz in the city of Jacobabad in southern Sindh province.

The F-16 C/D Block 52 aircraft is a high-tech fighter jet equipped with state-of-the-art avionics suite and latest weapons with Night Precision Attack capability, a PAF statement said.

These aircraft are part of the bid by PAF to modernize and enhance its air defense capabilities.

The PAF chief and the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan were present on the arrival of the aircraft.

In the late 1980s, Pakistan struck a deal with the U.S. for import of F-16 jets, but Washington blocked the sale in 1990 as a sanction against Pakistan's nuclear weapons program.

The revived sale came after Pakistan joined the U.S-led coalition in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks on the U.S..

The F-16s are built by Lockheed Martin and one of the world's most successful fighter aircraft.

The first batch of three aircraft arrived in Pakistan in May, the second three in October and third group of six aircraft were delivered last month.

SOME SIGNIFICANT FEATURES OF F-16:

- - F-16 Block 52 has an AN/APG-68 radar which has a range of 300 km. This radar has a Synthetic Aperture Radar capability, a form of radar whose defining characteristic is its use of relative motion between an antenna and its target region to provide distinctive long-term coherent-signal variations that are exploited to obtain finer spatial resolution than is possible with conventional beam-scanning means. It originated as an advanced form of side-looking airborne radar (SLAR).



- - The most wonderful feature in these F-16s is the JOINT HELMET MOUNTED CUEING SYSTEM. With this system the pilot of F-16 can hit targets accurately as the missile travels in the direction where the pilot points his head.

- - Because of the Conformal Fuel Tank, which is now above the wing, there is space for more missiles.



- - F-16s are equipped with BVR (Beyond Visual Range) missiles, that can be operated in any weather and in both day and night.

They are also equipped with Laser Guided Bombs, the Penetrator missiles and Heat Seeking missiles.

Israel is getting F-35 because they asked for it.
Uptil few years ago, US never declined us any defence product and never dared to offered India any defence product.
When our economy was good... it was announced that we'll get F-35 but thanks to inept govt. every thing has changed.
No world state have any respect for Zaradri and its clan.

price of 1 f-35 is nearly equal to 5 or 6 f16s. so even if US offers us, we cant buy that as our close enemy is our neighbor. we can attack them by long range missiles. but we don't want that war to happen.

by the way f-35 is ugly.
