Pakistan Army recently carried out an air defence exercise during which it displayed it's capabilities by targeting and shooting down fast moving Drones with both Guns and Missiles. Some of these were seen launched from the ground,. However, not sure if any one noticed that some of these drones were actually carrying some form of their own weapons under the wings. Not sure what would be the purpose of such load as the platform only serves as a target.
BTW, the Rocket Motor is under the tail.

Maybe it was to showcase PA ability to even hit the ordinance once its release from the aircraft. This particular must be for HARM and other standoff missiles. But speed is also a factor with these missiles specially Bharamos.

.
Possibly combine practice of targeting with drones and targeting drones into one session? A more radical possibility is to allow troops to practice targeting bombs released from aircraft.

Weaponised target drones are used for testing the weapons or simply as an armed drone if the situation arises.

You still don't get it, these drones were being launched as targets and were later shot down by AA guns or missiles.
Just wondering if the load under the wing contains flares which were being targeted by MANPADS.
But then, surely they wouldn't waste a drone just to launch flares.

.
Any modern target will have chaff, flare dispensers so if the drone is carrying dispensers it is more realistically simulating targets.

I know what target drones are. But they also work as a cheap alternative for weapon delivery. Can also be used to test the munitions.

DRDO Lakshya was tested with PGM, CEP of 20m. There's also a reconnaissance variant.

There are also TOW targets, but they're generally bigger.

Wrong information! PAC is not manufacturing jet target drones. The ones you have shown above are Chinese manufactured jet drones purchased by Army AD last year!

I read that PAC manufactures it's own target drones and assumed these were also home made products, none the less, the real query in case you haven't noticed is the purpose of these target drones carrying some of their own ordnance.

Can you please modify OP to reflect correct information?
