Star Online Report

The rise in the cases of dengue fever in West Bengal in the border regions is a result of the widespread outbreak of the disease in Bangladesh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said.

“The dengue situation in Bangladesh is very alarming. As Bangladesh is our neighbour, if something happens there, the effects also crosses the border,” she said at a programme in Jadavpur yesterday.

“There are some things that can’t be barred. Mosquitoes from there can cross over to here, while mosquitoes from this side can also go there,” she said, adding that they have to be careful about the issue.

According to the information from the state government health office, around 700 people infected with dengue have been admitted at various government and private hospitals till Thursday morning, our Kolkata correspondent reports.

Some local media published reports of deaths caused by dengue fever in the state, although there is no official report in this regard yet.

she agrees their are too many bangladeshi mosquitos in west bengal ?

The amount of filth is higher in Kolkata. I don't know why Mamta is going after Bangladesh. Convenient punching bag I guess.

Open defecation, unsanitary standing water situation and too much Kanjoosi to use bug-fogging devices define Kolkata reality. Forget about aerial spraying for Mosquitoes - too much money. Kanjoos!

If one visits both Dhaka and Kolkata, one will see the picture.

He further said that all playgrounds of the city must be freed from illegal encroachment.

"You have a powerful instrument [smart phone] in your hands. Record the voices, take pictures, and use social media to identify the illegal encroachers.”

DNCC and Ministry of Youth and Sports will start working in 54 wards from August 5 to get rid of Aedes mosquito

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has said the new sample of insecticide to kill mosquito will arrive in a day or two from abroad.

The mayor told this to reporters on Friday while inaugurating a campaign for creating awareness to prevent dengue and eliminating Aedes mosquito.

The Aedes mosquitoes are instrumental in transmitting the dengue virus which is in a state of outbreak in Bangladesh currently.

DNCC and Ministry of Youth and Sports organized the campaign jointly at a school at Uttara in Dhaka, read a press release.

The mayor said the north city corporation itself, from now on, can buy the insecticide.

However, quality of the pesticide would be tested by the authorities concerned, he said.

After completing the test, the insecticide will be purchased as soon as possible, said Atiqul Islam.

He said: "We have no lack of sincerity on our part to remove the dengue menace, but we will have to work round the year over the issue."

Both DNCC and Ministry of Youth and Sports will start working in the 54 wards from August 5 to get rid of Aedes mosquito. Every ward is divided into 10 zones.

The mayor, however, urged local people, students, scouts, youth organizations to work with unity in every ward under the leadership of DNCC ward committee and regional executive officials.

A press release of DNCC said, mobile courts will conduct drives at homesteads alongside different establishments to check if there was any mosquito breeding ground.

"Legal action will follow the house owners if the mobile court finds presence of mosquito breeding ground in their houses," it said.

The ugly failed beggar hiding from ICE, earning less than haitians do in his squalor dump in some caliturdia tent city can only spout fake numbers:

This is 2017 too btw, 2019 given the progress rate....it will be 0 as targeted.

Far more believable than the BBS (BanglaBS) stats from 3 million waaaaah country.

Here is footage of this tent-city refugee as a kid...back in his source slum (around 1 minute mark):

There is a reason why these characters earn worse than haitians in the US....and thus rely on fake emotional numbers.

Only recently as year 2000, 73% of your kind shitted out in the open!

যত দোষ নন্দ ঘোষ। Not only Dengue, but a day is coming the Indians will blame Bangladesh one morning when they find many of them are suffering from constipation. This bloody Mamata Bannerji she has almost destroyed our northern agriculture by stopping the Teesta flow and is now blaming Dengue on BD.

In 2015, India was reported to be the country with the highest number of people practicing open defecation: 524 million people or 40% of the total population. These numbers have since then been reduced significantly due to the efforts of the Indiangovernment's Clean India Mission.

Idiot @Nilgiri, please enjoy the video of Super-Haitian Indians defecating in the open. Indians have no shame. But, have you yourself gotten rid of this open defecation when you reached Canada? Canadians will hate you if you still keep on dirtying their Parks.

Now there is basic santitation to tune of 60% (compared to 48% in BD - BBS stat even) coverage.

Also what is the point in having whatever Bangla Bullshit (BBS) claim on toilets if your hygiene level (simple handwashing and soap) even according to same BBS is pathetically low compared to India?

65% of you lot dont use water and soap after you are done? A full HALF even in your cities dont wash or use soap after their shitting.

No wonder you do what you do and perform how you perform wherever you go. Worse than voodoo ppl even apparently. Probably persistent parasitic infection in the brain from childhood.

Are you from a faridpur slum too originally? I am sure its lot better than noakalhia idiot slum. First focuses on needle factories at least instead of 300 taka tea served by fellow unwashed unhygienic swampsters.

I lived in BD you idiot and never saw a single person ever defecate in the open or heard of the practice in my district.

Provide evidence or just take it like a champ!

Just learn to wash your hands (with soap) please...no wonder you lot are stuck in failed smelly restaurants with bad hygiene.....with only recourse to label them as Indian (so that you can coat-tail there). Bangladesh apparently means no washing hands after ure done to the tune of 2 out of 3. Ew.

Forget about your biased data. But, answer me sincerely with one question. If the percentage of open defecation is a staggering 55% in India, then can you just tell me what could be the percentage of people who wash their hands with soap after done with? It is very easy to deduce then that at least 95% of Indians do not use soap after they are done.

You will certainly not come with your usual oblique argument that your PM Modi and his Dharmic BJP stupids stand by the side of the defecators here and there. He is too busy with his construction program of 10,000 Mandirs in his dirty India, no time to think about hygiene or welfare of his people. Here, being a citizen of dirty India, you are criticizing others, very strange. You have no empathy!!

Woah step aside, we got a worse-than-voodoo-Haitian "3 million died coz I say so...waaaaah" bong trying to do some math and logic here lol.

UNICEF clearly defines what it means here (it is not conditional probability stat but absolute access + prevalence one...... not that a brain-parasite infested craphead like yourself would even know what that is).

You understand this is also large part of also why India has basic sanitation coverage at 60% (lot higher than BD at 48%?)....because birdbrain bong bhikari "pit latrines" (BAL claim stronk) apparently are mostly used without any handwashing after whatsoever, because they are that poor, stupid and kanjoosi....just like you.

Please take the time to read through the website more if you really care....or just prove your mental deficiency, prevalent in your chotolok kind some more. There is reason why BAL can win 95% seats in election......while real household income is on the decline.
