It have been quite some time and people here on PDF and all over the country as well are following the Panama Case proceedings. This should not come as a surprise as it is most probably THE most important case to come to SC of Pakistan, since at least a few decades. The decision will decide whether the corrupt, if smart enough, can hide behind the law and regulations to their own benefits of that the law is powerful enough to drag them out in the mud, not matter how strong the culprits are. As my signature say, for me, it is a SC case, PAKISTAN vs the corrupt ruling elite! The stakes are very high, on one side the ruling party may lose its credibility and government while on the other side Pakistan’s image will be tarnished. If anyone have been following the case they obviously know what it is all about. The case is pretty transparent and what happened is pretty clear. The only thing that can save the government now are technicalities that, to be honest can be used to get whatever result one want to (sadly that is how it is over here). However with the world watching, any such decision will make us butt of all jokes with the international community being reassured that we are a corrupt nation where anyone strong can do whatever he wants and no one can hold him accountable. The SC need to step up and do what is right for the country. We are already pass the point where we could say “else it will be too late”.
A lot is happening on the political front as well. While PMLN have worked up a sharing of information agreement with Swiss authorities, threatening the political powers like PPP (Zardari) which looks more like an intimation to join hands with them to stop this anti-corruption drive, the PPP and its front man Zardari have yesterday reject the government’s decision to include FATA in KPK but keep it under governor. Stating that FATA must be merged with KPK and ruled by KPK assembly, that in this case, is being head by PTI thus putting their weight with PTI. While these punches and counter punches are being exchanged, the PTI chairman Imran Khan have again let down hundreds of thousands of people with his bad timed, ill-tempered loose talk against PSL thus successfully negating a huge chunk of support he would have gotten himself in case the SC ruling was in favor of the corrupt PMLN, proving yet again that perhaps he himself is his biggest enemy.
While it have been quite informative and to be honest, entertaining to follow the case proceedings over the last few weeks/months, we have come down to the last leg of it all. A decision is expected soon now, with many saying it may come this week. It is understandable that every member here is curious about what the SC will say in this matter, what the decision will be and there have been many debates and arguments going around about it.
Inspired by a post of our dear members @PakSword , who was conducting a survey regarding what people here, our members think a possible verdict will be, here is an opinion poll for you all to participate in and have your say.
