What's new

Operation Swift Retort section at PAF Museum Faisal

Shaheen-e-Pakistan plaque only has F-16 and Mirage on it. Interesting.

That Abinandan sculpture is a bad precedent. I'd rather not see a similar statue of one of our pilots in their museums. The aircraft wreckage is enough. Hope they take it off soon.
They worship him based on myths,,, the sculpture is a myth buster!

Photos would be better, especially all the photos by the Air Force/Army that havent been shown in the media

The sculpture is in bad taste especially with the bigger Pak Army soldier standing behind him

Ideally depicted minus the bloody nose.

Lacks chivalry.
We are not them,we should be we.
Strongly agreed. My dad, a PAF Viper driver, was shot down behind enemy lines. I would certainly have not liked it to have had Soviets have a statue of him in their museum with his flight suit and name tags on display.

Even when the coverall of the Israeli pilot shot down by a PAF pilot was put up on display, some folks disapproved of that and suggested it should be returned to his family.
A lot disapproved of it.

Once again your father wasn't shot down by Soviets neither they had any direct role in it.

Typical desi liberal storm in a tea cup.

PAF’s domination of IAF in the February skirmishes is now part of history and all facts must be preserved; especially when the Indians are engaged in an outrageous manufacturing of the facts of this engagement. Besides, both India and Pakistan have displayed equipment from previous wars. Indians museums display captured Pakistani tanks and Pakistan also displays Indians tanks and planes it’s museums and military bases. The Capture and display of enemy equipment as a war trophy is a long military tradition.

Abhinandan has received unprecedented makeover in an attempt to rewrite history. PAF is entirely right in displaying his overalls and other associated belongings. The history and facts must be preserved for history and future generations despite the holier than thou attitudes of small fringe groups.

Just my opinion, but I think the statue is a bit too much. By the way that is not the real flight suit.

They are celebrating as if they've conquered Kashmir.

It was just a minor skirmish. The country rejoiced, pilots were awarded etc and it was enough.
This pomp and show must end now and we must prepare for what the future has in store for us. We, however are in a state of unending hubris.

It is too much now and they are over doing it.

It was not a major battlefield victory. It was a minor clash and should be treated as such.
