Well India has R-27 ER/ET variant in their stock with 100+ km range. I don't think bvr missile range was issue. A couple of things may be one of possibility.

One- They were clueless what to do and couldn't react aggressively.
Two- Radar on SU-30 MKI wasn't able to lock target at 100+ km range (my one cent, it might be a reason) Or EW comes in play.

No that's not true, R-27 is SEMI ACTIVE RADAR GUIDED AIR TO AIR MISSILES, which means launching jet should always point to targets to paint the targets through its radar/data links and this data links could jam easily by opposing jets/ECM/EW aircraft, and R-27ET has range of 120 km and R-27ER has range of 130 km, All BVR fired not at extreme range but within NEZ (NO ESCAPE ZONE) to increase the chance of hit, if MKI fires R-27 ER/ET at that extreme range, destroying the target by MKI would be least Chance, firing within the NEZ MKI would became a range within the F-16's AMRAAM range, biggest drawbacks of R-27 is that its not a true fire and forget BVR (ACTIVE RADAR GUIDED AIR TO AIR MISSILE) like AMRAAM/R-77 is @Amigator

Fantastic to see such excuses made for “Raptor of Asia” for more than a decade, Indians have been bombarding us with claims that Su-30mki and Bisons would shoot down PAF jets before they even had any idea what hit them. Today they are justifying how an Air Force with numeric and technological advantage was spanked silly. Say what you want, IAF didn’t hold back anything on February 26/27, PAF simply outsmarted them and superiority of PAF training was the main difference.

India is a bully country without any restraint. It held nothing back. The humiliation of India was courtesy of superior training and battlespace awareness by PAF. Let the Indians play victim. The facts don’t change and the entire world endorses PAF narrative.

I believe RCS of SU 35 has improved compared to SU 27 and SU 30

Yes it's a known fact now that Su-35 is far far best from any thing in east. And good luck to Pakistan India will not buy them. They have plan to upgrade Su-30 but in my opinion they will have to scrap 80% of a Su-30 to bring at par with Su-35.
