Dear friends, and senior people here (Moderators and Think Tank - what is Staff?),
This is a most humble request so please do not take it wrongly.
By and large I have great admiration for the way things are kept in control here ..... it takes a lot of effort for what is essentially not your daily bread and butter, and hence our appreciation and respect to those who perform this function tirelessly.
I have also said this before and will say it again ..... by and large decisions of the Moderators are nation unbiased and both sides get an equal platform to speak out and be heard provided they keep it civil and to the point.
No complaints so far.
However, it cannot be missed that most members with a "Banned" suddenly appearing under their ID are Indians. Rarely (if ever) a Pakistani.
I have absolutely no complaint when its a new-ish member who is obviously trolling and here to create trouble, or lacking in basic decorum, etc. But often, I see Indian posters with a large number of posts behind them suddenly Banned. Many of them are posters whose posts I like to read, for their content and quality. They are not trouble makers. They may have an off day, an off post, a burst of temper, a bad day at the office, or anything else.
But aren't Pakistanis equally prone to these afflictions of chronic netizens? Are we not all equally human? Yet suddenly Indian regulars will be shown as "Banned" and those of us regulars who come back the next day and click on "New Posts" and read the ones we are involved in or which interest us, may or may not find the thread or the exact post that got a friend/fellow member Banned.
Now here is where my request comes in ...... I am not advocating the cause of my compatriots here though I hope seniors take note and introspect on what I have pointed out.
Simply put, if someone of some standing (as can be seen by number of posts, thanks, and general content and feel which one gets about the person if one is regular on the Forum .... its like a big often dysfunctional family!) gets Banned, then MAYBE it would be helpful to others if there were a hyper-link or an explanation or simply the offending part for which the member has got Banned.
This will promote Transparency in what is already a very fine forum, and increase confidence in members of all nationalities with regard to the unbiased nature of the Forum.
This will also help to further elucidate the rules and boundaries to those like me who would like to push the envelope from time to time, in a civil manner of course, as to where the line is, and no further, so that we may in turn improve and not get Banned ourselves.
This will in no way undermine your authority on what is essentially a pakistani forum, where we Indians are guests. But it will promote and foster healthier relations and better debate I feel.
Thanks and regards,
Cheers, Doc
