ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey Muhammad Haroon Shaukat has said that Turkish entrepreneurs are keen on investing in Pakistan.

The interest lies in the fields of infrastructure, energy and municipal services. He said this while speaking to a 17-member delegation of the participants of the ‘National Security and War Course’ of the National Defence University of Pakistan, which called on him in his office.

The delegation is currently on a study tour visiting Turkey, said a message received from Istanbul.

Shaukat said there was great potential for bilateral investments and the recent successful Turkish projects in these sectors had great scope to be further expanded into more cities in Pakistan.

“Pakistan-Turkey relations are of extraordinary nature and a huge reservoir of emotions and goodwill is further strengthening them,” said the envoy.

Public welfare topped the agenda for both leaderships of Pakistan and Turkey. Shaukat told the delegation that efforts were being made by both the countries to translate the relations into good economic ties.

As part of their study tour, the Pakistani delegation will visit and interact with leading Turkish think-tanks, government departments and military institutions and they will have site visits to different defence production industries, said the message.
