I just came across this video when former Germany's president Kohler was received by former France's president Chirac.

Every first wednesday of the month, air raid sirens are tested all over the country, and the sirens went off exactly when Germany's former president arrives (temporarly confusing him btw) at the presidential residence..... coincidence ? I think not !

Ze Germanss are coming.

What they were saying past the siren wailing:

German president: "You hear that noise? WTF"

Chirac: "Just taking precautions good sir, you can never be too careful with you lot" :P

BTW what language is generally used when French and German leaders talk in personal un-assisted level? 3rd party English?...or one of either? (I would imagine if one is fluent/semi-fluent in the other's language, its made known that can be used during arrangement of the visit if acceptable etc).

To be honest, that is a question I was always thinking about. Not sure if this is English as our presidents have such miserable skills. French ? German ? or a mix of both ?

At least we now have a president that fully speaks and understands English. :p:
