As close as a cricket game can possibly get, Pakistan won it with the last wicket on the last ball, that too after an astounding display of sportsmanspirit by a young Courtney Walsh
Of course, the news that day and next was splashed with a smiling imran khan shaking hands with a smiling nawaz sharif during the presentation ceremony. Funny how they still dominate news 30 yrs later in Pakistan. Full Match Highlights below

Saleem Yousuf played ODI cricket for Pakistan from 1984 till 1990. He averaged 14.95 with the bat, and barely crossed 25 from 1984 till 1990. This innings was the one anomaly that he had in ODIs before 1990. Not only did he hit 56, he hit more 4s than all the other Pakistani batsmen combined. This was truly the definition of "... being his day... ".

Also, note that Phil Simmons, who was on debut for the WI, had no problem facing Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Saleem Jaffar, without a helmet.

Incidentally, the game was played at the Gadaffi Stadium Lahore, 30 years ago today : 16th Oct 1987.
