Besides this, rationalization of work force is in process and policy of right person for right job has been introduced.

Moreover, the embezzlement cases have been pursued vigorously and NAB has been requested to accord priority to the cases. This would help enhance the good governance in the organization.

I am very surprised because Delhi with just 10 million population has daily ridership of more than 2 million in Delhi Metro. Pakistan Railways have to be really pathetic to just attract 6 million in 3 months.

@Rafael

Glad Saad didn't join PTI....

Please don't compare Urban Public Transportation with National Railways.

Not everyone travels between cities everyday ! Whatever the figure maybe for the National Railways, at the end of the day, its an improvement and step in the right direction. Besides, you are a population of 1.2 billion and we are of 180 million....

Compare Delhi when Pakistani cities get a Mass Transit system one day. I bet 4 million people would be traveling daily in Karachi and 2 million in Lahore. You can mark my words.

Well Pakistan railways needed emergency financing of 1 Billion Dollars , not odd
100 Million (Pakistani media reports the rupee conversion figures)

What they needed to do was get 1 Billion in financing and immediately order 500-600 Brand new engines from USA or 1000 engines from China

Solve the problem once and for all in 5-7 months

Even if they had contracted the repair work of engines to US companies , they could have done the complete fix of all engines in 6 months (All engines)

PR's been ghetto-ised by the Pak Army who hijacked the freight business. Sempre.

Well its simple Math

1 Locomotive - 2 Million USD

400 Million dollar buys you 200 Locomotives from USA , high quality

Either buy F22P or 200 Locomotives

200 Locomotives = Profits for Nation

F22P = expenses to be paid Loan

Also intriguining is the fact Nawaz SHARIF keeps building Billion dollar "ROADS" when country needs 1000 lcomotives , for Billion dollar investment
