NSA was spying on Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, WikiLeaks reveals

Everyone spies on everyone. It just so happens we really don't give a faen.

Norway accepts the US’ response to surveillance and spying ‘scandal’

Probably because we helped them spy:

Revealed: Norway spies on Russia for NSA — RT News

It's common, Russia's keen to remind us of that.

World leaders spy on world leaders, it happens, everyone does it. I take solace in knowing that no intelligence agency has the time or interest to concern themselves with my private matters (all incidents of the NSA's employees targeting civilians were due to personal interests with the targets - such as ex-lovers NSA staff used spy tools on spouses, ex-lovers: watchdog . They aren't targeting random, nameless people ), so I don't care too much about them gathering my electronic information. It's hardly as if I'm adverse to sharing it anyway.

Now wave for the Chinese, they're watching you too:wave:.
AT least no media in USA have been broadcast how far the NSA have gone before snowden run away from USA.The hypocrisy spirit of US has been a key to cover how many dirty works the US have done, and become a standard procedure to brainwash ordinary dumb American and to fool some really stupid country to support them.Lies after Lies, still more lies.

Intel Sharing means Japan has to provide its best efforts of whatever it has on Russia, China and N.Korea even S.Korea to the US, the other way around is not guaranteeed.

Plus Japan has to be nessessarily spied by the US. THAT IS THE ARRANGEMENT.

Naive, aren't you? It has been more than 60 years.

The US has been spying on many of its none-core allies, none Anglo-Saxon nations. You think Japan could be spared? that's called too simple and easily deluded.

The US have spies or intelligence operator all over the world. There are quite a lot of active ops back in 2006 in UK, FRANCE and Germany by the NSA.

I cannot go into detail with those ops but they do exist, especially when France refused to fight with the US in Iraq.

This is the reason why Japan must , and i repeat, must develop our intelligence potential , separate of the United States.

This news is very disconcerting. Why must you spy on us, American Ally? :(....

@Technogaianist @Peter C @AMDR @F-22Raptor ..... :(

Spy is such an ugly word.......And it actually a big blanket in a lot of thing.

Spying can be seen in 3 different level.

1.) Indirect apporach
2.) Direct Penetration
3.) Off-Site penetration

Most allies of the US are subjected to Indirect spying. Which include SIGINT (both COMINT and ELINT) however, the purpose to conduct intelligence surveillance is usually not to gather intelligence. But as part of Communication Security protocol. Where Japan and US have a direct communication system, that system needed to be test from time to time to ensure they are secure. One of the way is for friendly nation to try and hack thru the system by SIGINT, if they cannot gather anything, then the system is secure.

Do bear in mind, most country uses off-site penetration to steal intelligence. I don't need to hack a US DOD server to gather data for DoD, I can hack the computer the computer that server is connect to.

I know, I believe it is important to remain level headed in these instances of revelation and resist the propensity in feigning ignorance. For people who are not 'exposed' or 'educated' in the matters of diplomacy and strategy, they will believe that Japan is innocent and free of any intelligence designs ourselves. When the reality is that Japan, through her vast NGOs operating around the world and her Global Reach through various organizations (academic, military, research, civic engagement ) receives intelligence that way, as well as even covert methods. I know this because I served in the JMSDF for several years and even in the JMSDF, there is an intelligence wing where officer who are polyglots are sent abroad to "study" in host countries universities , participate in military to military conferencing , but are actually compiling data of the national situation and they when they do go back to the JMSDF headquarters, they debrief the commanding officer(s) on their findings, as well as necessary data. I can tell you that this is over-arching and deep, the process that is, as well as the layers into. This is not only limited to the JMSDF; the JASDF , the JGSDF even the JCG have their own intelligence divisions.

The only thing is that Japanese have not yet been "caught" , yet. Then again we don't hire auxiliary folks such as Snowden, who has no military background whatsoever, but was just an IT adjunct hire who decided to expose after his opinings got the best of him. In Japanese Intelligence , Military Intelligence Wings, the recruits are commissioned officers , selected for their devotion to the Nation, and are tested to resist interrogation, even commit suicide if a contingency is to happen. That is the difference here. And we have a healthy pool of these intelligence officers that are spread around the world.

The sheeples of the world would like to believe that Japan has not intelligence capability, even naively thinking that Japan and Korea or Taiwan don't cooperate, lol. The reality is, of course, the opposite. Diplomatic speech is one thing, reality is another.

Anyways,
Seoul, Tokyo conduct military intelligence talks
