North Korea has published a lengthy and racist attack on the US President, allegedly describing Barack Obama as a "clown," a "dirty fellow" and somebody who "does not even have the basic appearances of a human being".
The vitriolic screed was published on 2 May by the Korean Central News Agency but not in English, according to The Washington Post, and escaped the attention of foreign media outlets.
It was only picked up when blogger Josh Stanton uncovered the piece, in which he claims it says Mr Obama "still has the figure of monkey while the human race has evolved through millions of years".
The crudely-worded rhetoric labels the President as a "crossbreed with unclear blood" and continues: "It would be perfect for Obama to live with a group of monkeys in the world's largest African natural zoo and lick the bread crumbs thrown by spectators."
The article, which has not been verified, is reportedly comprised of four passages attributed to citizens of North Korea under the heading "divine retribution for the juvenile delinquent Obama", the Post reports.
North Korea most recently launched a vicious attack on South Korea's President Park Geun-hye, labelling her a "capricious whore", a "despicable prostitute" and "wicked sycophant," following Mr Obama's recent visit to the South.
The US President spent two days in South Korea as part of his Asia tour, where he pledged that America stands "shoulder to shoulder" with the country over the North's provocation.
In response to the visit, the The North's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) issued a statement - full of forceful hyperbole by even its standard - calling America the South's "master" and accusing the pair of "blackmailing" the DPRK during the "criminal" tour.
