Is it possible for a non mohajir to lead MQM??

First the party is named as Mohajir Quami movement and then Pakistani authorities forced them to change the name to Mutthida Quami movement . These days they are even changing the leadership to non Mohajirs.

If it is done then Mohajirs will loose what ever influence they have quickly.

Why did MQM change its name in the first place then??

A party which was founded for Mohajirs has changed the name of the party and removed the name Mohajir.

does that mean the problems of Mohajirs, because of which the party was formed, are solved ???

even when MQM was named mohajir qoumi movement, MQM did gatherings to punjabi speaking people in lahore, mohajir was just a tag, but MQM always tried to attract all kinds of ethnicity, when MQM realised that it was not doing ethnic based politics in the first place and was not limited to one ethnicity, it changed its name to something which it represented in the first place

Problem lies in the thinking of Pakistanis. They have this insecurity about division of Pakistan based on ethnic lines, reason why every ethnicity/culture/language is covered in the name of Islam.

You people can be sindhi , punjabi, pathani etc...etc.., But still be Pakistanis. But the Pakistani authorities in a view to create a state based on Central authority and Islam, never allowed it. Now it seems there is some realization.

Problem lies in the thinking of Pakistanis. They have this insecurity about division of Pakistan based on ethnic lines, reason why every ethnicity/culture/language is covered in the name of Islam.

You people can be sindhi , punjabi, pathani etc...etc.., But still be Pakistanis. But the Pakistani authorities in a view to create a state based on Central authority and Islam, never allowed it. Now it seems there is some realization.

the struggle is not about ethnicity but social deprivation, im sure a punjabi living in a pind is as deprived as a sindhi in his goth, pakistan is being in the process of retardation, it is not growing

this is also the point that MQM realised when they were doing politics in the name of mohajirs, they realised that even though leaders maybe of any ethnicity, they failed to provide even for their own people

generally pakistanis are very ethnic tolerant people

so the social life of pakistanis which was present 20-30 years ago, there was talk about culture, economy, comparing to other country for progress, now few years ago it is limited to security issues

10-20 years ago pakistan was more socially rich as compared to now, and similarly it was 40-50 years ago

now typical pakistani thinking process excluding few elite/rich people is not even the dress they wear or fashion but about bread, inflation, hunger, poverty, roads, sanitation

the retardation of social upheaval has made pakistanis think only about price of bread, security etc, pakistanis are insecure today like they were never before

so its not actually an ethnic strive, but a strive for social upheaval

social insecurity has tightly gripped the neck of every pakistani
