No, thank you: Nepal asks India to not send old clothes as relief

Wow, why cannot accept old clothes? Someone who is in need will never reject it. These clothes are donated by people.

Nobody is defending faltu people here. I agree that some Indian journalists are becoming more and more arrogant with India's growing influence. These guys should have exhibited sympathy and humbleness towards Nepalese. But again without India's help this disaster would have taken much more lives and it would have been beyond Nepal government capability to tackle the issue on its own. Appreciate when it is due.

Nepalese people will not agree with you here

Looking at the number of threads opened on how India is humiliated on Nepal Relief makes me feel that our beloved western neighbors still have problem digesting the beef

.
The Indians tried to malign Pakistan with Beef story, now it seems, humiliation and rebuttals is hitting them in the face.

the old clothing is a syndrome that afflicts the desis. the tsunami victims in India and Sri Lanka did not want old clothing either

In Canada and America Whites have no qualms using old clothing if they are in good quality

They are agreeing with what I am saying..you just have to google to find it out. Nepal is poor country with a GDP of only $ 20 billion, half what is the wealth of one Ambani brother. 1/3rd of their country is gone. According to some estimates Nepal requires around $10 billion to just rebuild what has been destroyed, forget about other things. India's help is very much required or Nepal will take ever to rebuild

. .
They dont want old clothes they want only beef masala :D

.
No it is a dry slap indeed. If everything went ok, it was Indian government taking the credit. It is certainly a big shame for India :tsk:
Why would the Government take credit or criticism for something they did not do.

GoI did not send these things, it was voluntary donation by NGO's.

.
Buddy that beef issue was bit sensationalised by our media crooks(you might have come across a trend #Indian media go back) not by GOI.....
Same is the case the now, GOI is not involved in distribution of clothes but the some NGO.
Btw you can't deny generosity of India or Indians who responded to calamity at the very hour it hit the Nepal.....
My organization also sent mail yesterday to help Nepal in the needy hour....
@Ammyy kuch de rahe Ho ya PLI or increment ka wait kar rahe Ho..... Haha...

Guys, the fact is that during calamities, be it cyclones in Bangladesh, Tsunami floods in India or Earthquake in Pakistan, we have donated and even collected clothes, old and new and other utilities for the effected. Never ever such donations have been refused by any organisation or country.

However there's no shortages of idiots considering they are either incompetent or unable to digest the news so easy escape for these morons is to attack the OP.

Well,call yourself that.

Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh governments, besides the Indian Red Cross Society, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Dena Bank and the MHA are among those to have sent relief supplies through the rail route.

Its not about that particular consignment of clothes.

.
i don't know from when nepalis think that only 1st class clothes will be given to them. it is not an isolated incidents. even during 2004 Tsunami, many in india get, used clothes as relief materials from abroad mostly form western countries. old cloths don't mean that they are dirty clothes or usless or damaged. with more than 10 million people becomes homeless in nepal, it will be great relief for them if they get a clothe. most of such relief materials from forgine countries are like this.

Dont be so harsh.

The old cloths or used cloths from West means better than even new cloths both in India and Pakistan.

As far as not accepting or objecting to worn out cloths well we should understand that self-respect is one thing which people even in difficult times try to keep intact.

I remember when covering earthquake in Pakistan, have seen our Kashmiri/Pakistani brothers and sisters refused to accept old cloths and shoes.

They used to trow away the old cloths even if these were in good condition and only pick the new ones in most of the cases.

During the tsunami disaster a lot of affected communities in state of Tamilnadu were offended by the offer of old clothing
We are not talking about organizations or countries. We are talking about individuals who would be wearing those clothing. They said NO to old clothing.

Buddy this is summer so clothes are not in the list of requirements else wouldn't have seen this issue.... This is not anywhere close to a humiliation of which you trying to score over well timed distribution of beef (hehe) ..... N if you have noticed the op it clearly mentioned word "quietly" which speaks louder(in a sense to measure the cordial relations we both nations share) than launching an official enquiry on the part of Nepal gov....
Rest "Baal Ki bhi khaal nikal rahe Ho" .....

Another day, another comic attempt to downplay India in Nepal. It has ceased to be funny and now its just sad. :(

Intellectually challenged or disingenuous people who don't know the difference between GoI and NGOs aside, I would like to find if this is really the sentiment of the people on the ground or some silly Nepal government officials.

On topic, there is a saying, 'beggars can't be choosers'. The arrogance to reject 'used' clothing when a third of your already poor country has been shattered and you have no ability to help yourself is just astounding.

This is not a big a matter, actually not even worth anyone serious reacting to, but it is surprising. One would think that they would be grateful for whatever help they get, but th world is made of strange people, I can only hope this is a small section and not representative of Nepalese people in general.
