SIALKOT (Dunya News) – In a swift action on Monday, Sialkot police have arrested nine suspects including prime accused Jajja after a video of a transgender person being flogged was shared thousands of times on social media..

A case was registered against the suspects belonging to ‘Tinda Group’.

The gang’s leader, identified as Jajja Butt, is seen in the video flogging the transgender person, who lay face down on a cot screaming in pain.

At one point, while another gang member continues the flogging, Butt places his foot on the victim’s neck and twists his arms.

Reportedly, prime accused Jajja Butt mercilessly thrashed the victim for organizing a function without his permission. Tinda Group has forbidden the transgender community to do any function without its permission.

Notorious Jajja and his accomplices had abducted four transgender people Adeeba, Dillagi, Hina, Adil and Shanaya. They were taken to suspect Azeemu’s farmhouse in Kotli and subjected to brutal torture.

“They used to torture us with burning cigarettes and abuse us. They have also shaved heads of some of my friends,” a victim told Dunya News.

Police have named 18 suspects in the First Information Report (FIR) while nine of them have been detained so far.

As outcasts, transgender people are often forced into begging, dancing and even prostitution to earn money. They also live in fear of attacks, causing most to either change their names or use only one name to give them anonymity in the society.

In social media, the abused transgender person is talking about how they raped them and forced them to drink their urine. This is Islamic Republic of Pakistan?!?! Which kind of pathetic state would allow such heinous crimes. Only state should have the authority to use violence.. not random gangs.

If true, these filthy dogs should be burnt alive and telecasted at television!!!

So in your opinion all these shameless and brutal acts were carried out by state permission or did the Islamic republic of Pakistan sanctioned license for this barbaric act? No "pathetic" state allows such heinous crimes and that is why all the accused are in custody, but I fail to understand your reason for bashing Pakistan. There are more than 200 million people living in Pakistan, neither all of them are angles nor evil, there is a mix of good and bad people like any other society. Fortunately an abundance of good people who make us proud like Edhi and millions more like him serving the humanity, and then there are some pure evil like these creatures (who should be hanged for murder), and then there are some who need an excuse any excuse to bash the country they live in.

Point taken, but my post was in regards to pathetic policing and justice system we have in Pakistan (and you know how pathetic it is!)

What happened to those involved in massive child rape on videos in Kasur? Tell me? Anything?

There is a reason you would hardly find such things in America. Our justice system will crush these criminals and have such mechanisms that would keep criminals in check. But in Pakistan, things like these happen on the daily and go un punished (we both know it).

So don't take it as bashing of Pakistan. The state is absolutely pathetic and barbaric...needs to have a major institutional reform to come out of its tribal, gang-type nature and become a modern state.

In on my classes, our professor (while talking about Africa) said "In tribal, backward societies where familiar connections dominate and merit and justice is non-existent...violent gangs or gangs disguised as political parties hold power, and not institutions. Such societies are easier to dismantle by superior, organized institutional societies of West"

Think about it. Pakistan is NO different but it can be.

I have little faith in the judicial process. On one side, there are poor dancers and on other side, politically backed gang of criminals. I seriously doubt any of the culprits will get punished.

I know where you coming from and know we are far from being perfect, but then this is life, if everything was perfect we would be in heaven. I am as furious as any one else on no action on those scum child molesters and their so called "influencial links", maybe some body needed to do the right thing there. but we see such/similar instances in every society, what happened to Dick Chenny for shooting that poor guy in the face?

This is disgusting, even under religious grounds. Some people are born like this and it's beyond their control.
Nothing religious about it. This is grossly inhuman and barbaric. Even, no religion would allow torturing and disgracing a particular sect/group like that on no grounds whatsoever

And I am very pleased at the swift action of the Police. If only the police system was as efficient always!

Yes, connections and money does give you an advantage in America as well. But the level of justice here is FARRRRRR better than Pakistan. You seriously think that kasur type incident would go unpunished? Or anybody dare to force transgender to drink their pee?! Unimaginable. American justice system will wreck their generations before something like that happens!!

Shooting somebody in face by mistake and raping children and video taping the whole process to put down their parents, and forcing others to drink pee are COMPLETELY different things.

Justice is the foundation of prosperity. Moving to America has made me realize this on such a deeper level. In Pakistan, it's still barbarians and their ways of "powerful gets the justice he wants"..

You know recently a judge in America got caught taking bribes...he was punished to 28 years. The catch? In America, the punishment for murder is 14 years :) Just let that sink in...

Utterly sad state of affairs. Such 'men' are insult to the entire gender and humanity. Transgenders are not the children of a lesser God. It is time they are granted the protection our constitution promises to every man and woman

I have seen that video she wasn't being brutally tortured or flogged, she was belted to be precise. Yes she didn't deserve this and the perpetrator who was only one should be punished. In the video there was another guy who was trying to hold off the douche bag from beating her as much as he could. Pakistani people are notorious for getting all sentimental at a whim. Interestingly most of these are cross dressers and not even tyranny's or the actual HERMAPHRODITES. And what all this has to do with religion is beyond me, there are crimes against all genders including children and babies in all countries so raising an eye brow at Pakistan by specifically pointing at the religion is quite petty to say the least
