TEI made its first brand/model application for turbofan engines as Tei-TF6000 on May 5th.
If they haven't changed, TEI names its engines in pounds (lbf), and Kale Group in Newton. Accordingly, TEI-TF6000 can be a turbofan of approximately 27,000N / 27kN. Rolls-Royce F405 Adour or Honeywell F124 looks like its counterpart. (Saffet Uyanik - Defence Turkey Mag)
TEI start to derivering its accumulation from the TS-1400 core engine, to the different engine types, apparently. As @RadarGudumluMuhimmat pointed out above, the TF-6000 will likely be the code name for one of the first examples of indigenous and >20kN turbofans.
So what does the 6000lbf turbofan engine project mean? Probably we may need to look back as far as the UAV roadmap report published in 2011, for this. An example of a conceptual spec, from that report:
*Stealth UAV system
*Unmanned Fighter Jet
A concept visual from the same report
Undoubtedly, a turbofan of this class will fill an important gap and can be used in many projects for Turkish aviation companies. Perhaps, the engine of a Hurjet's size aircraft will emerge from this engine family in the future. I will update the thread when detailed explanations come.
