The newly elected President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has an Indian connection as the Barkatullah University in Bhopal is his alma mater.
Hassan, who was elected President of Somaliaon September 10, studied in the Bhopal's Barkatullah University for his M.Tech degree from 1986 to 1988, varsity registrar Sanjay Tiwari said.
"He was our student and we are all proud that Hassan has become the President of Somalia," Tiwari said.
