i think going for a tottaly different design would be better like Pakistan mosque and other mosques maybe something never made before instead of going for same design .

The more correct question is do we need it ? is there a shortage of mosques for the inhabitants of the region ? the sole reason of that project is the whim of the Erdoğan to left a imperial symbol in the back like Ottoman Sultans, I'm just feeling sorry for the greens they're going to destroy(Çamlıca is among the rare green places in the Istanbul)

Not needed as there's enough but still a good unique design would be attractive and nice.

They can do that good unique design in somewhere that mosque needed, although I don't think any place needs a huge *** mosque like this, instead of that, they should restore wrecked historical mosques and help villages to build mosques(if they want).
