In new local government system of Punjab there would be 11 metropolitan corporations in division headquarters and Gujarat and Sialkot and 25 district councils. Heads of these metropolitan corporations and district councils would be directly elected
In past heads of district councils were indirectly elected
There would be village and neighborhood councils at local level

My primary reason to vote for pti was establishment of sood free economy and transition of admin and financial authority to the elected representatives at district level from the civil martial law administrators like the good ol days of Musharraf. Imo divisions should also be abolished

Great move, directly elected Mayors would be much more beneficial given city powers are given to them.

Dividing in Metropolitan areas is much better and hands-on practical for the public to get street level issues and development done in thier community.
