Sushma Swaraj tells Hasina over phone; Trudeau calls Suu Kyi
Star Report

Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj last night expressed her government's full support to Bangladesh's stance over Rohingya issue.

Sushma talked to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over phone and conveyed the message to her, PM's Deputy Press Secretary Nazrul Islam said after the conversation from Gono Bhaban.

Sushma said the Indian government is trying to create a pressure bilaterally and multilaterally on Myanmar to stop the persecution of Rohingyas as well as take back the refugees sheltered in Bangladesh.

"Rohingya problem is not an issue for Bangladesh alone; rather, it has turned into a global matter from a regional one," Sushma Swaraj told the prime minister.

Hasina said Bangladesh has given shelter to the Rohingyas only on humanitarian ground. Myanmar must acknowledge the Rohingyas as their nationals, she said, reports UNB.

It seems the GoI is not listening to the anti-Rohingya pleas of the Acchyut (Untouchable) Sudra Indians in the PDF.

Why does It has to be anti-myanmar for being pro-Bangladesh? Kindly consider the diplomacy, that's what we do first and foremost to come out of either domestic issues or international problems. We work for our own interests first, rest come later. Thank you.

Nobody in Bangladesh believe Chanakya.
Nobody need to, everybody has to look for their interests first. Nobody does charity except those countries who have things to spare. India is still a developing country and would like to work within limits without interfering in another's house.

It would be immensely helpful for these refugee and Bangladesh if Chanakya create pressure on burmese junta to stop their atrocity rather than providing lip service and some material goods in Bangladesh. At least for India's own sake. Many of these refugee may cross into India which India oppose strongly.

India has already committed 7000 tonnes of material for Rohingya, that's more than enough to shut those who claim India is ignoring the Rohingya issues. And why should India interfere in another country when we have all sorts of issues to solved in our own home. We will secure our own interests first and foremost. The. Rest can be served if we have capacity to spare.

There is no logic for fighting with Myanmar over this as there native population has also suffered from terrorism. We sympathize with them also and Rohingya civilian also and we will help both of them.
