The article is a bit old but is worth it.

With entrants in aviation market such as Japan with Mitsubishi MRJ(I believe Kawasaki also has one in the works that might resemble kc390), Russia with their new Tupolevs and Sukhoi airliners and Copycat China with their Comac jets.

There is clearly money to be made. The new conventional engine below wing, extra narrow body design is catching on with airlines. Manufacturers are coming up with creative ways of increasing passenger comfort, introducing class system in regional jets, figuring out ways to maximize profits and minimizing costs. Overall increasing versatility.

So will PAC wake up and atleast conceptualize how we can cash in on market demand?

.
I know you gonna hate me for this one. If PAC could work with PLAAF with the JF17 fighter why not get JV with the dudes with Comec

CPEC should not be just about roads and new highways or some shiny new buildings but a partnership with tech transfers

.
Moreover, manufacturers, airlines and government organizations like NASA are having serious discussions regarding the future of aviation. Voncepts ranging from bulky wild designs for hypersonic jets. To small flying car/air taxi startups vying to add a niche further below private jet share companies and regional airlines. That will definitely spice things up a bit.

If Indonesia didnt get Monetary Crisis in 1997-2000, Indonesia will enter the game much earlier than China and Japan. This is all because of IMF who forbid Indonesia to finance the program. After we pay all IMF loan in 2006, Indonesian Aerospace give up pursuing this specific market and instead focus on turboprop market with N 219 and N 245 program.

IPTN N-2130
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The IPTN N-2130 was a proposed 80-130 passenger commuter airliner of original design by IPTN (now Indonesian Aerospace). The N-2130 was estimated to cost two billion US dollars. The project was cancelled in 1998 due to the Asian financial crisis.

The aircraft has similarities with the Boeing 737 and Airbus A318.

Variants
  • N2130-80 - 80 seater Regional Jet
  • N2130-100 - 104 seat Regional Jet
  • N2130-130 - 132 seat Regional Jet
