An amendment that would put obstacles in the way of the purchase of F16s from Turkey, linking the sale of defense material and weapons systems to NATO members with the violation of the sovereignty of other allied countries, is expected to be advanced in Congress.

.
Amendment, which “prohibits the President of the United States from transferring weapons to a NATO member that has, within the last year, engaged in repeated unauthorized airspace violations or otherwise violated the sovereignty or territorial integrity of another NATO member ”, was submitted to the budget of the US Pentagon.

This is an impressive development that shows that members of Congress are determined to use all the "weapons" at their disposal to stop the sale of F-16 fighters to Turkey. The new effort is being led by Congressman Chris Pappas and the organization HALC.
