ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP): As part of the ongoing relief efforts for the quake-stricken people, the Development Co-operation Minister of the Netherlands, Ms Agnes Van Ardenne has pledged Euro 5 million for primary education via UNICEF. This money is designed to be used for primary education facilities in the camps established for displaced and homeless people. Similarly, in consequence to a successful country wide television campaign for donations, the Dutch public has contributed Euro 21.5 million for the relief operations.

The cost of transporting the mobile field hospital and other relief goods to Islamabad is Euro 3 million. A mobile field hospital (military) comprising of 115 (medical) staff members will be set up for about three months in Bagh. The hospital will have an initial capacity of 25-beds and will be boosted up to 60- eds. The hospital will start operation next week and will be part of the NATO Disaster Relief Operation. Netherlands will also provide shelter material to Pakistan which will arrive here on October 29. These include 500 mattresses and 120 stretchers.
