On the eve of Israel’s third national lockdown, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that the entire population could be vaccinated in three months time, making the Jewish state the first country to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic.
“The agreement that I have achieved with Pfizer allows us to immunize everyone in Israel over the age of 16 by the end of March -- and even before, possibly,” Israel’s longest-serving prime minister said in a televised address to the nation.
“We will inoculate the entire relevant population and anyone who wants will be able to get the vaccine,” he stressed.

Netanyahu revealed that a “Getting Back to Life” plan will be unveiled in the coming days, which will indicate the priority list of vaccine recipients.
“If there are no surprises,” the Israeli premier added, “during Passover we will be able to sit around the table with grandpa and grandma, parents, children and grandchildren; and when asked: ‘what has changed tonight?’ -- the answer will be: everything,” Netanyahu stressed, referring to a traditional Jewish aphorism recited over the holiday’s dinner meal.
Health Minister Yuli Edelstin, who delivered remarks at the press conference as well, said he was “proud” to serve in his role as Israel became the first country in the world to immunize 18 percent of its population and receive their first dose.

“Israel is the first country,” he continued, “that around 70 percent of its at-risk population have already received the first dose.”
The Jewish state’s full comprehensive lockdown will commence overnight Thursday at midnight after cases continued to soar, despite the reintroduction of a nationwide lockdown on December 27.
The Health Ministry and government advisers pushed for a “tighter” lockdown in order to bring down the morbidity rates.

They clearly underestimate Mother Nature. New virus strain on your six. Coronavirus been around for 50 million years at least. If they think they can beat coronavirus so easily they got another thing coming.
