NESCAFÉ Basement auditioned talent across Pakistan for season 5, and it looks like they've taken up a responsibility fairly alien to such platforms in the country.
The team came across several academies around Pakistan that have fallen into disrepair, and made a stop at Surtaal Music Academy to find and hone fresh talent.
Why revamp Zia-ul Haq academy?
Recognising the need of helping out local, budding music schools, NESCAFÉ Basement set out to revamp the place so it is able to take more students under its fold.
Here's a detailed look at how NESCAFÉ Basement breathed new life into the little music academy:
Leading NESCAFÉ Basement, renowned singer/musician Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (better known as Zulfi), commented on why the team felt the need of such an initiative and said, "We came to this place for auditions and felt that such (music) schools in Pakistan need to be supported and encouraged. The world will one day recognise Pakistan's efforts towards creating good music."

Speaking about why the platform felt the need for such an investment, Marketing Manager NESCAFÉ Basement, Fizza Ijaz, said, "We were mesmerised to see talent like 8 year old Hadiya and 7 years old Fizza in this school. Our aim is to get involved in such ventures every year and recruit more talent for the upcoming seasons."

Commenting on the new look of his little academy, Zia-ul Haq said, "I'm happier than the kids to see all this happening. When I first saw the revamped space, I could not believe this was the same academy. It was a dream to see it get renovated this well. A total of 9 students have been selected by NESCAFÉ Basement from my academy, and I'm thrilled to see them do all this with such perfection."

The Basement team not only renovated the music school for these talented kids but also passionately recruited 9 students out of the school for the latest season of the show.
For episode 1 of season 5, the Basement team picked Hadiya Hashmi to become part of a soulful melody by Soch The Band.
