The Central Electricity Purchasing Agency has urged the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to authorise a basic power pricing hike of Rs4.75 per unit, putting additional strain on consumers in the face of rising inflation.

According to local media reports, the market operator has applied to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority for a stunning Rs4.75 per unit increase in the power cost (NEPRA).
In October, a new application was submitted to NEPRA for a power tariff modification based on the fuel price.

Oye Pakistani Marie Antoinette... those poor people who don't even have few more rupees to pay per unit, how come they can buy lakhs of rupees worth of solar panels? Qatari gas is imported but who makes solar panels in Pakistan?

Paynyavve can't formulate a policy.

When the public protest this enslavement of IMF, government scours behind guns, grenades and guards.

Discos should be PRIVITIZED ASAP. Only in Private hands can they improve EFFICIENCY and recovery of dues from defaulters / Kundas.
They are a BIG reason behind the Circular Debt.
Any subsidy being given to any part of the country should be immediately finished specially the Northern part of the country and Tribal regions and other government institutions. Because of them, burden of Circular Debt is being entirely shifted to the common man as even the basic necessities of life are hardly affordable these days.

Every part of the country should be treated EQUALLY and no subsidy to any area on account of Politics and Favoritism.

Also, PETROL / DIESEL / FURNACE OIL should be DEREGULATED ASAP. The cost of transporting the OIL / RLNG to the northern part of the country sometimes 1500 km, is too much and should be paid by the consumers in the NORTHERN PART of the Country ONLY.

The cost of Circular DEBT and Regulating the Oil / Petrol / RLNG / DIESEL and keeping it same is ERODING THE COMPETITIVENESS of the Private Sector specially EXPORT ORIENTED INDUSTRIES.

WHY SHOULD A FACTORY LOCATED CLOSE TO THE SEA PORT PAY THE SAME OIL / PETROL / DIESEL / RLNG BILL, AS COMPARED TO THE FACTORY LOCATED 1500 KM AWAY, IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE COUNTRY?
