Well the fact is that india has always been good at creating wealth and this has been the magnet for the barbarians. Elephant statues , kohinoor diamonds, peacock thrones were all "made in india" and enjoyed elsewhere for free.

That has not ended Hinduism, which is stronger than ever. Indians have always picked themselves up and put that statue back together again. Hinduism can reflect and change, it is not rigid, it can adapt to the times, which is probably the biggest strength of all. Isn't the head of one of the hindu organizations an open atheist? Which other religion will allow that....though to be honest sometimes I wonder about pope Francis too.

I think the biggest issue has been that while india is resilient and always rebuilds, we are very bad at remembering history and telling our own stories. Our story has always been told by others. This is a near fatal mistake.

We need to start telling our story in our own words....

Learn from the past. As I said that is where we indians are very poor. We learn NOTHING from history. We allow other people to tell us our history to this day. It is a weakness. We need to tell our own story like Europe does and America does ...
