Just in case you are still interested, the total strength of PLA in that conflict is as follows according to China’s official history of China-India 1962 border conflict.No.
I am for one not at all convinced about the authenticity of the 8 to 1 figure. Did you get some authentic information about this? Preferably either a Chinese, an American or any other neutral figure, not IA memoirs.
1. No 419 troop, consisted of 3 infantry regiments (154, 155, 157), totaling 8000 men.
2. Infantry regiment no 32 and no 33, coming from Division 11, around 3000 men.
3. Infantry regiment no 165, no 164, no 165 from Division 55 , around 8000 men.
4. Artillery regiments, no 306, no 308, no 540 for fire support
5. Army engineer regiment no 136
6. 2 Air defense battalions
7. Infantry Division no 130, consists of 3 regiments: no 388, no 389, no 390, around 8000 men.
8. Infantry regiment no 153, 1500 men.
9. 2 Artillery battalions.
As you know, there were 2 phases:
1srt phase: 3 regiments from no 419 troop and 1 regiment from Division 11 plus artillery regiment and a engineer regiment units, total of circa 10,000 men.
2nd phase: all the units mentioned above involved. The 3 regiments of Division 130 fought battle of Walong and the rest fought Se La-Bomdi la side. A total of around 25000-28,000 were committed (including artillery, engineers and air defense units).
