Need suggestion about car ! !

I would say,the days of unreliable cars is over, even the cheaper brands are reliable enough, engine wise.
German cars are over engineered, for the first 3 years they may be good but once warranty is over the problem will start. toyota and honda are mostly of lower end models and are simple cars which last forever. Well you may appreciate bmw for handling or mercedes for luxury but look at their resale value they are horrible. At the same time lexus by toyota still has better reputation for reliability even after warranty. Resale value is a good indication of the cars reputation for reliability.

ford mustang gt :enjoy:
I'm seriously considering the mustang gt and trade in my tl... wife drives a minivan... but in a mustang can only put two child seats in the rear... i need three for the rare time i stuff everyone in my car

Maybe one of the kids in the trunk ...

Here in Europe, most people use cars for 4/5 years and then buy a newer model, its not like it used to be.

Why do you need a car in BD esp Dhaka? You will get around faster just by walking :P

Rubbish. I have 4 year old BMW330 Coupe and have clocked 160k miles. The car still looks in showroom condition, still runs sweet as nut, drives like a thrill, looks stunning. The only cost I have had is regular servicing and bespoke alloys. Other than that the car has not been off road once - other than service. Jap cars can match this reliability but the thrill and pleasure of having German car is unique. Only super cars can do better.

Last month I took delivery of a brand new Mini Cooper D in Volcanic orange costing £23k but loaded with every extra you can think of. Again I chose that as second car (for family) because it married British retro style with German enginerring courtesy of BMW. I expect this car again will do it's job flawlessly. It feels solid like granite. I will post pictures when I get a chance.

My brother has Audi A5 Coupe, my other brother has Mercedez E class AMG coupe. All three of us strangely, independantly of each other chose black. Yesterday we took them out to run them against each other. The Merc was dream and grand but no match for BMW coupe's agility. The Audi A5 coupe was compromise between both but had very quite engine. Again I will post pictures. I am surprised that a defence forum full of guys would have more interest in cars.

True men love boys toys. Military or otherwise.

German cars have much better support structure and infra in Europe. In north america, they depreciate like hell and end up costing way more than they should for what you get.....because there isnt such a strong and scaled up network.

My old 3 series beemer (which i got used) that i got rid of some years back....was costing an arm and a leg for every little thing that would go wrong with it that I couldn't fix myself.....because it would be one particular widget that would have to be imported from germany rather than made in a spares shop locally.

@BDforever does Maruti Suzuki or Mahindra sells car in Bangladesh ?

Their market is too tiny right now. They buy mostly used japanese cars for the few they do buy.

http://www.brta.gov.bd/images/Statistics/July statistics-bangladesh-16.pdf

They have about 300,000 private cars in total, adding around 20 - 25k per year now (mostly used toyotas and such).

Will have to wait a long time before their middle class bulks up enough for Maruti and others to be interested in seriously promoting their models there.

Right now Maruti is more focused on other markets that can actually buy cars in appreciable numbers and depth:

First there are exceptions, its not only my opinion but also statistics to prove that (http://www.jdpower.com/cars/make/bmw) .
In your case bmw 3 series (328 & 335) (there is 2 series which sucks big time) is a good one , bread & butter model of bmw. But even in 3 series I see ppl use it only till 60k miles after that they sell it off if they own it. There are some like M series which bmw buffs own for a long time.

I have seen tons of off lease cars going for less than that of their residual value. They simply dont move from the lot even after a huge discount. Only few used cars get into certified inventory of bmw.

Fact is cost of a used BMW 3 series is nearly same as that of new toyota/honda model which should make a lot of ppl buy it. But I see only hondas/toyotas selling like hot cakes.

No doubt bmw has terrific handling which is unmatched by others, but I would not vouch for its maintenance. Well let me know if you are willing to provide a simple 800$ maintenance/year after 50k miles, I will take a 340 GT ;).

:o::bad::bad:

TK20lac (including registration fees, insurance fees and other expenses)
how much percent of car value is regn & insurance fees?

Well, this is the third BMW I have had. No compaints. After winter I am buying the new 4 Coupe series coupe. I was supposed to buy it this summer but I had some problems and now with winter approaching I will wait. I know you can sometimes have bad luck. My brothers Audi injectors packed in at 40k miles but that's sods law. Again Japanese cars are reliable but if I want a reliable car a Nissan Micra 1.5diesel would do the job. A car means more to me then just a to b.

I used to spend lot of my time on the road. A car was just more than a transport. It's sort of extention of me. Mine a is black M3 with bespoke alloys. Like this below but with cream leather interior.

Well, I would not vouch for any car over three years old. Lot of it depends on how it has been taken care of and then there is that probability factor that something might go wrong. This applies to Jap. cars as well. The Japanese do make some good cars but their interiors tend to be staid and not classy. All plasticky etc.

Don't know much about those Japanese cars as they are not much popular in India except and Pajero( especially with Punjabis)....We have Mahindra Scorpio though.
