Need help...!!!!

Asslamu Alikum ... And Hii everyone iam from azad kashmir and a student of Msc physics.. i need some help from you guys. Iam having some problems regarding my study.. not just me but almost whole of our class is facing almost same problem. Problem is that we do all the hard work we study day and night prepare each and everything that we have learned. We are going through midterms these days.. but we arent satisfied with our reaults. We dont get the desired reault that we should obviously get after so much effort but thats not the case.. i want some ideas from everyone how can i and my fellows do smart effort instead of trying hard.. problem is that we get confused in exams. Thats maybe because its our first smester and we are experiencing a whole different thing.. How we caan better clear our concepts in less time instead of trying a whole day and night..so plzzz everyone share some ideas how can i improve?

study everyday for 2 hours... find questions in each lecture/chapter which teacher may ask and prepared answer for them... but study everyday not just near exams... again saying spend 2 hours daily on your own..
