Vista sucks man, go for windows 7 if not then xp is a better choice.
I do have window 7.
but the problem is that his PC doesn't support other than vista OS. when i searched drivers on the website, the website has only drivers for vista OS. No drivers for xp or win 7, so i don't wanna install other OS and end up having to drivers for that OS.
Install Ubuntu OS on that computer, PC brand and year of production?
personally I won't go for it but he might like it. You can download and Install ubuntu from usb.
Ah Dell exactly the model name/number..
desiguy pm I'll give you link perhaps you might get drivers. Believe me I've fixed some 10 years old computers of my neighbor. The hardest was to find sound.
Also check this website eBay Classifieds (Kijiji) - Post & Search Free Local Classified Ads.
if your state/city is mentioned people sell original windows for cheap.
I do not know where you are getting this from, but then again read what you wrote.
How can Microsoft/OEM not have drivers for Xp or 7 but have it for Vista?
You can search for drivers on other websites. Not only on OEM webpage.
Which OEM is this? That might be useful to know.
For your thread question, you cannot install Vista on another computer if you didn't have the cd.
How ever you can try one thing. Ask a friend of yours (Not the same friend, i mean anyone with a vista cd) who does have the same Vista like Home premium, Professional, 32bit/64bit etc etc. Then use his cd to install Vista. When prompted for CD key, enter the one that you took off your friend's pc.
Good Luck!
There is no easy way.
Try to installing Windows XP as dual boot, BUT first install Vista on a drive and update with install all drivers, and then XP on D or whatever designated Drive, must not be installed on primary Drive where Vista is installed. I am guessing it will work that is XP, sasta tareeka.
Second choice. If there is Vista OS is already installed and PC is updated with drivers if not Install Vista, Important note down Sound, Graphics, Ethernet specifications Models going to the device properties, and independently find their drivers from vendors website.
Alternatively write down those specs/models of sound/graphic/Ethernet and we'll search the driver compatible with XP.
