NCP skips UPA meet, Sharad Pawar may quit government

New Delhi: Key UPA ally and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar is sulking again over not being made number two in the Union government. According to sources, Pawar and his close aide Praful Patel are even ready to quit the Cabinet.
Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel on Thursday skipped key UPA Cabinet meet for the second time in a row.
While the Cabinet meeting was on at the Prime Minister's residence at 6 PM, Pawar was closetted with Patel and NCP spokesperson D P Tripathi at his residence.

The row erupted after Pranab Mukherjee, who held the de facto post of the number two, quit the government to contest the Presidential poll.
The controversy was triggered after the chair next to the Prime Minister was allocated to Defence Minister A K Antony at the last Cabinet meeting, signalling that he was now the number two in the government.
Pawar was allocated the seat next to Antony, apparently upsetting him as he used to sit at the same place when Mukherjee was in the government.
NCP had on Saturday last also stayed away from the UPA meeting on Vice Presidential poll candidate.

Its preparation for 2014 general election. This temp. divorce will do good to both parties. NCP has lost too many voters now. Congress therefore can think of going solo. Similarly Pawar will have option to join NDA if UPA indeed does badly. Same is the case with Trinamool.

About YSR Congress- something is cooking between NDA and YSR-Congress. JD-U is in charge. In future Andhra pradesh may have a coalition of BJP-YSR-TDP...

No ji....regarding NCP they can never go with NDA as a large part of their vote in the Marathwada regions comes from Muslims..

As for YSR - do you know that Jagan comes from an evangelical family and an alliance with BJP is again unthinkable..moroever YSR Cong has decided to vote for both Pranad and Ansari in the Prez and VP elections...

Cant say abt NCP but YSR is seriously talking to JD-U. Cant predict the final result but this Jagan Mohan seems to be a good planner.

in 2014 it will be regional sartaps who will call the shots . (mulyam , mamta, nitish , amma, jagan ) only one of those is friendly to the nda . to the others the nda is not an option.
