LAHORE (Dunya News)- Ousted Nawaz Sharif’s homecoming rally has cost national exchequer a mammoth amount of Rs300.56 million whereas economy, already plummeting against backdrop of current political turmoil, registered an estimated loss of Rs1.25 billion.

These startling stats were shared in a report by investigation cell of Roznama Dunya.

Report illustrated that commissioners, high-level government officials and employees were assigned task to bring as many Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN) workers to rally as possible. Report further narrated that carpets, movable stairs, dais and other related things were shifted on government’s vehicles.

Many PMLN’s leaders, who don’t hold any public office, overtly used government’s protocol, vehicles and drivers for participation in rally. Similarly, an estimated 12000 government s vehicles were used in rally and 42000 employees had carried out rally-related tasks.

Discontented by apex court’s disqualification, Nawaz Sharif held GT road rally as display of power. The rally continued for four days whereas leaders including Nawaz addressed participants on several occasions. Nawaz Sharif, in rally, had vowed to address flaws in Constitution and legislation.

This is nothing [expense] compared to what gt-march is going to cost to the economy; local businesses. Last time it was dharna held for long months ended up costing the economy more than 500 billion rupees. But GT-march might cost more or less depending on how long GT-march will be held.

Demonstration cost money; budget and economy. That is why i am against those so-called demonstration projects while in reality it is just partying projects at best.

Donkey bhi sara din mehnat karkay haq halal ki khata hai, he is worst than a donkey.

Exactly. He is worse than that. He is freeloader who thrives on looted-money/public-donation. They never had stable years but they want to be leaders on people's hard-earned money. :D
