He is a scholar with no apparent political leanings. People like him holds more credibility than any politically biased, be it left, Congress or BJP.
By the way, the defence minister is supposedly denying any surgical strikes in the past and this is what I hate most. Political vultures trying to skim the military prestige, even if it takes to prove the men liar who claimed it to happen.

I don't know about his political leanings, but i have read few of his articles and work and he quiet clearly has ideological leanings. That is without a doubt.

I have read his entire book on Indian political history, what he thinks of political parties and especially what he thinks of BJP as a political party. If you have not, please read them first before deciding which political ideology he adheres to.

It only helps the Islamist fundamentalist preachers in the valley to convince the youths an oppressive state which is essentially Hindu and the Muslims there have no basic social security there of. One set of rabid fundamentalism is feeding and strengthening the other. If you don't agree with this analysis, fine. But you have no right to abuse those who believe it to be a rational analysis, irrespective of their political bias.
