He won Amritsar seat 3 times for BJP which was lost by Arun Jaitly in 2014. His wife is also a MLA.

He was interested in fighting from Amritsar but BJP selected AJ on the demand of Badals. Badal's are against any influential Sikh face in BJP because they don't want rise of BJP among Sikhs. Distinguished Sikh face in any other party could spoil their interests in traditional Sikh vote bank. So called Chanakya of BJP Amit Shah has shown his foolishness by sacrificing competent political leader for the pleasure of Badals.

He certainly is overrated. Just look at Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh. Who in his right mind would do something like that. These states are tiny and therefore off the mind of mainland voters, otherwise would have created lot of negative publicity for BJP.

The problem is, BJP doesn't let go of SAD for what reasons.. no one knows.

If BJP severs ties and goes at it alone, it has a better chance. But thanks to SAD's corruption record, it is taking a toll on BJP.

SAD has BJP's steadfast ally. Badals have stood by Modi in his most difficult period. Thats why he is not letting go of them. Policy may work if the coming govt screws up, considering Akalis support base in rural Punjab.

Differ with you on that.
They have added Haryana & MH.

They have done well in Kerala and WB.

They played in UK and AP and it didn't work out. So, what? The seeds of discord are sown and all BJP has to do work behind the scenes for next elections.

People expecting Amit Shah to win all states is unrealistic.
Think on this. BJP never had it as good in their history. Just based on that fact, credit should be given where it is due.
