Hmmm its press TV, but there has been reported heavy fighting in Bajaur and of successes by militants all of a sudden.

PressTV - 'Militants take control of Bajaur area'

Taliban-linked militants take control of bordering area of Bajaur tribal region in Pakistan after US-led forces removed security checkpoints near the Afghan border, officials say.

Pakistan officials told Press TV late Monday that NATO forces lifted some 13 security checkpoints in Tehsil Mamond bordering area.

The militants took full control of the area and established their own armed patrols, the officials added.

The move came in the wake of a series of attacks on NATO supply containers all across Pakistan.

Dozens of vehicles, carrying supplies for the US-led foreign forces, were destroyed in the past two weeks.

NATO supplies via a vital Pakistani border crossing with Afghanistan resumed on Sunday after Pakistan's Foreign Ministry announced the reopening of the main land route following an 11-day suspension.

The route is crucial in supplying the US-led war effort in Afghanistan against the Taliban militants.

During the closure of the crossing, thousands of oil tankers and supply vehicles became stranded at different points between the port city of Karachi and Peshawar.

What's up?

Maybe US is sending a subtle message that this is what will happen ,if we leave.

And when I said this yesterday HERE, some ppl were unhappy. But this is the reality.

I think more investigation is needed on this new development, especially about the role Nato has played in this latest flood of militants on Bajaur.

You would recall that the fight for Bajaur was fierce and we gave up a lot of lives retaking it.

Well perhaps this happens when they leave suddenly. If they would've allowed Pakistan to replace those checkpoints with some on our own - after all if we can't cooperate on border checkpoints how can we cooperate on bigger long term goals - we would've been able to control it.

In other words its US who had been facilitating TTP and its groupie terrorists' cross over into Bajaur and now US has again opened the way for their sending to Pakistani area for carrying out terrorism.

But this can rebound too in that case US should not have any facepalm

The last time the US collaborated with TTP, they ended up blowing a bomb in the CIA base killing some key operatives of theirs.

If you think ISI is notorious as it works with shady characters as and when needed, what do you think has earned CIA its sinister reputation?

But c'mon, the US can afford to send such messages to Pakistan? Close their supplies again, for real this time.

Maybe they should have communicated that they are removing..or who knows they might have communicated also.

I think the ISPR will clarify it.

Actually both US and Pakistan are hitched together now and co-operation is the only key to come out of the woods.

But I think what is in stake is America's prestige and Pakistan's survival,Hope better sense prevails.

Afghan Taliban occupy abandoned checkposts

Some very related news, corroborated by Sify

Islamabad, Oct 12 (IANS) The Afghan Taliban have taken control of several key checkposts close to the Pakistan border after the coalition forces abandoned them, a media report said Tuesday.

The News International reported that Afghan Taliban guerrillas occupied the strategically important border checkpoints at Ghakhi Pass soon after the NATO forces and the Afghan National Army vacated them.

The checkposts were abandoned due to a spate of attacks.

After seizing control of the checkposts, the Taliban fighters began patrolling the area and strengthened their position.

Sources said the coalition forces had earlier deserted seven checkposts due to the Taliban offensive.

The Afghan Taliban Sunday had claimed to have killed two Indians and injured seven soldiers of the Afghan National Army.

I think strategy is quite clear... to dilute Pak army in space and than hit them.
It is time that COAS come on TV and speak of his limitations before it is too late.

we should let the talibans flow in and then seal from both side in a collaborated action with NATO / ISAF. lets traps these thugs and clean them off!

;) Asim i have all my facts very much in line thats why i was questioning any miscalculated message by US.

lately CIA has got itself beaten to blue by its own cross play. We had been losing many lives for us its not a new thing. If that comes at the cost of more lives we will survive to do that even.

But every casualty on US part runs deeper along with their going down in Afghanistan. If US had avoided playing double game with Pakistan coupled with undue pressurising it might had saved some dignified withdrawal

:whistle: yeah let them in to start terrorism in Pakistan and let the NATO give excuse to bombard Pakistani areas.

NATO should clean up its mess at their own.

By sending terrorists into Pakistan NATO Is just creating reasons for us NOT to support its war

Its a tit for tat.. Pakistan did stop the supplies suddenly too..
