The National Guard of the Russian Federation announced on 23 November that it had received its first batch of ten ‘Patrol’ armored vehicles.

In Naberezhnye Chelny, hosted a ceremony of handing the first batch of ‘Patrol’ special armored vehicles, developed under the state defence order for the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation.

The event was attended by the first deputy director of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Sergei Melikov, representatives of the administration of the Republic of Tatarstan, management and scientific and technical staff of the manufacturer.

The ‘Patrol’ is a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle designed for transporting personnel and equipment across rough terrain and hostile areas. Developed by Asteys, the vehicle is based on the chassis of Kamaz.

According to the company, the vehicle can be employed in a wide variety of combat situations, including urban warfare. It can transport up to 10 passengers (including driver) or up to 1,500 kilograms of cargo, and can also be fitted with a weapon module to provide limited infantry support.
