History of dhoda sweet is very simple. In first 1/4 of 1900AD there was a health conscious "pehalwan"(wrestler) namely Hans Raj living in Khushab. One morning he became excited that he would reach the perfect recipe for his energy food. So, being a strong wrestler of Khushab he had been working on a diet for a long time. A diet that savoury and at the same time supplement energy needs for better health. Finally, he introduced such like energy food which was full of taste. This sweet became popular among the people. So in view of its popularity in the year 1912 Hans Raj decided to commercially produce his energy food and it was the invention of "DHODA".
After the partition of indo-pak in 1947, the Dhodha family moved to kotkapura. Though the Hans Raj migrated to india but taste of "dhoda" remained in Khushab at Pakistan. Thereafter, "halwaies" of Khushab purify the formula and introduced dhoda more delicious and tasty in different kinds and now Dhoda is mark of pride for Khushab.
Dhoda is not only the cultural heritage of Khushab but also a mark of pride, manufactured to be shared & enjoyed in celebration of special occasions i.e. Eids, Birth Days and Marriage Ceremonies etc. The best quality of Dhoda is to be prepared with a touch of pure class & massive care, using traditional ingredients & dry fruits to give you an unforgettable taste. From "entry to out" Khushab City is covered with a consistent line of dhoda shops.
You can certainly make your friends or relatives feel happy, by sending “Dhoda Khushabi” to them on special occasions.
