What's new

Nasa to partner Isro in India’s Mars mission.

What I fail to get is that when indians got entire communication n navigation support from NASA and ESA then what the heck is the whole nincompoop bloating and boasting abt launching orbitter mission on Mars in first attempt.when u are doing on the full high powered support of highly experienced and best space agency then with what face u boast abt it.

India doesnt have a intercontinental deep space network that's as extensive as NASA's. It's never the less impressive when ISRO has done it when the likes of Japan, Russia(certain), have failed.

Lolzz again getting help from NASA who had sent maven around that time and already sent many successful missions to mars. Then launching ur mission using her major assistance ,infact getting entire navigational support wsnt the major reason u made it successfully in the first attempt then whatelse?
I dont see where i should credit u for that?
If nasa and esa had some other agencies behind them they might also have met successes in the first attempts.!!!!

@coffee_cup just check prev page, getting entire navigation n communication support and then they bloat over their space programs. Even chandrayan 1 ws lost after one yr period tho was meant 2 last for two years. btw ur nick is a trial for one during roza. Sachmay bahi.

please don't be crybaby

So, what special technology does deep space network which India does not poses ?
NASA , ESA have deep space network station all around world, India didn't.
So, you want first we set up deep space network in Indonesia, Australia, French Guyana & Europe then launch a mission ?
Btw , we are just start installing deep space network abroad.

BENGALURU: The Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) has mooted a proposal for a ground station in Vietnam. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is also keen on the project.

The organization already has a network of ground stations within the country, one in Mauritius and two in Indonesia.

The proposal is going to help India receive, process and use data from Indian satellites for a variety of applications including disaster management support, a senior scientist told TOI.

It can also be used to provide training in space science, technology and applications which will benefit other members of Association of South-East Asian Nations (Asean) too —Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Isro seems to have already convinced Prime Minister Narendra Modi who discussed the topic at the India-Asean meet at Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar in November.

"Modi has broken the ice on the matter and it assumes importance as this is a diplomatic project which will need another country's co-operation," the scientist said.

Another scientist said that currently, for any major launch that has a launch phase of more than 22 minutes (like Mars mission), they need to use the help of global ground stations for which there are partnerships.

"But for launches that have a launch phase of 22 minutes or less (all our communication and remote sensing satellites), we use our own stations barring one. This station at Vietnam will enable us to be completely self-reliant for such satellites," he pointed out.

Besides, this will allow India to take lead in the region and act as a station for other smaller Asian countries during their launches.

LOLZZZ. My point was when launch was successful becuase major help was given then what the hell with this bragging that we launched in first attempt, dont diverge from this point.

So, you mean this is a major technological help which we don't poses ?

hmm..interesting..
So what major help we are talking about ?
Can you list them down please ?

Planning wasn't done by NASA scientist, nor the design of the satellite, etc. The limitation is geography. India doesnt have the global reach of the US, or former colonial lands of the Europeans to set up communication satellites.

At the end, MOM was being manipulated and annualized from ISRO mission control in Bangalore.

Of course that is one thing. Our objective is to send a Mar Mission to gather data about Mars, something which has not been explored enough, and not re-invent the wheel.

If somebody is having a deep space network ready for use, we might as well use it!!

Those who are jealous can work on their first indigenous moped engine instead.

Seems you don't have any idea about satellite launch.....
Due earth rotation its not possible to communicate from earth from single station that's why it need different station located at different parts of earth which can communicate satellite all time. In easy words it just a like tower for your mobile phone, these antenna are just medium to connect ISRO project office to satellite( this integration start years before launch).......
one more thing every space agency uses other space agency's resources like deep space station.
All the technical know how like programming, calculation and keeping satellite on its path throughout mission (which is most critical) all is done by ISRO.......That's why we are bragging(in your word) about mars mission achievement....

Launch pad - India
Satellite or prob - India
Launching and satellite communication - India
overall management - India
Earth communication - USA help since you need several communication radar all across globe for deep space communication

all country take help of USA in this regard

Shamim saab don't you know ISRO won "Space Pioneer Award" because of its achievement of Mars mission. If it is done by USA, why would they donate that trophy to India. USA did help us in monitoring only

Please stop making a fool out of yourself. NASA and ESA deep space network is like GPS, a service provided by America/Europe but available for use for everyone. Just like India is making its very own GPS-like network, India is also expanding its deep space network.

You d be surprised to know that even the Chinese first moon landing mission in 2013, Chang'e 3, was supported by ESA's deep space network, but we didn't see people like you questioning it, rather you lot were busy cheer leading your "big brother's" milestone.

As part of the Chang’e 3 mission, ESA’s Estrack network, featuring 10 tracking stations, has been supporting China’s efforts and the data collected by ESA to track the lander and determine its exact location in the Bay of Rainbows.

China Lands On The Moon But Admits It Needs Monitoring Stations Abroad To Begin Deep Space Exploration

Let go of the hate, its not gonna get you anything.

Indian space program is centuries ahead than others, they will soon be providing support to developing countries such as USA, Russia, China and Europe. So that these countries can catch up.

Countries are already lining up to join Indian mission to Pluto and beyond, which they will be launching soon, perhaps by 2020 when India is already a super power.

So we should learn from them and also start progressing.
