Burma's position in the Buddhist world is as important as Saudi and Turkey in the Islamic world.Burmese themselves rue the fact that they ARE burmese, You think he wants to go to Burma ?
Nope, He has some strange affection for Burma, which I can't seem to understand.
I mean Burma of all Buddhist majority countries ? That's like me taking pride in Somalia because they're Muslim, not that I'm particularly religious but you get the Idea.
Those who call themselves Bangladeshi should only take pride in Bangladesh. If they take pride in some other nation by virtue of religious links send them to a reeducation camp for all I care.
Muslim Bengali obsessed with Turkey or Iran - Send to camp.
Hindu Bangladeshi obsessed with India - Send to camp.
Bengali and/or Bangladeshi Buddhist obsessed with Burma - Send to camp.
Call me a Fascist but Bangladesh is for Bangladeshis, Anyone who takes pride in our countries on basis of religious affiliations should have their citizenship revoked, we have enough fifth columnists in Bangladesh as it is, Don't need more.
A modern Razakar is ten times more dangerous than the old ones and modern Razakars come in all religious flavours.
The Burmese people have contributed to the propagation of Buddhism like no other country. They rebuilt the Bodh Gaya complex of India which was inactive for centuries. They played a crucial role along with the British in reviving Buddhism in India. Myanmar also had some of the holiest shrines and relics of Buddhism. Moreover when it comes to religious funding and donations, the people of Myanmar remains in the top.
Without Myanmar the Buddhist world would be paralyzed. So evey practicing Buddhists supports Myanmar at least to some extent. Even Sri Lankan and Thai Buddhists support the Burmese when it comes to religious issues.
