pathetic thinking of your Earlier in the project its called FC-1 (1995-200) after 2000 its called JF-17, there is no FC-1 and there are pictures from PAC thats manufacturing Parts of JF-17M, and as for your information there are no production lines in China for JF-17 you paranoid @Vijyes Yechury :hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:

Don't forget that the plane was developed by China with the name FC-1 Xiaolong. It was given as JV to Pakistan with name change of JF-17 but nevertheless, Pakistan only assembles the plane with some minor component manufacture. China very well has the rights to sell its FC-1X without the JV.


All humans are not equal. Culture is what defines people, not biology. Your argument that all humans are same just because you are too stupid to look properly into details does not hold grounds. If there is difference, people will be treated differently. You are free to take the Bangladeshis in your home but don't ask others to do that.


What you are describing is license production, JV means collaboration in development, License is for a product that has already been built by the inventor on its own and giving production rights. Pakistan was involved since conception of the project and contributed in the R&D expenses. This way Chinese had utilization of its resources and Pakistan didnt need to re-invent the wheel saving considerable expenses and time.

R&D was outsourced to China and Pakistan makes 58% of the jet at the moment. It's a joint venture and that is what Pakistan always claims developed with the Chinese and made in Pakistan.

For any JF-17 variant China will have the development work they will make the prototype, Pakistan will then have the major production share as only assembly line is in PAC Kamra.

Myanmar jet assemblies were made in Pakistan before being sent to China for final integration and delivery which was done to circumvent political implications had they been directly delivered from Pakistan.

Even for Project Azm ACM has said air frame development will be outsourced to China as they have the required wind tunnel, design and test infrastructure, making same infrastructure in Pakistan at the moment will add cost and time. Pakistan's approach for project management which has been very successful and time saving while minimizing risk of failure is, Pakistan will integrate the systems after selecting the suitable package from sources followed by TOTs. If sub system is off the shelf then it will acquire license to make it but if it is custom tailored it will have JV production rights. Eg same approach with Al-Khalid etc..

This is clever stuff by Pakistan-China. Clearly Pakistan-Burma relationship has been at odds after Rohingiya genocide and Burma refusal of attending SAARC conference in Pakistan 2 years back on Indian dictation. We let the deal go through swiftly through China while Pakistan concentrated on Nigeria deal. Had we talked big about Burma JF 17s deal, our media would had made a big deal of it. This is how things are done just like we used to get F16s spare parts through Turkey in 90s, while on paper, US had sanctioned us.

Production variant is Block-2 so no reasons for it to not be V2.

Thanks a lot esp. since it proves my point of view. The reason for this question is, I had yesterday quite a nasty discussion with a most stubborn guy on my Facebook-page (https://www.facebook.com/Modern-Chinese-Warplanes-611223845748378/posts/Shaanxi) concerning the radar fit. He refused to give any quote and insisted that I'm a stupid foreigner without any knowledge ... while at the same time he insisted that Myanmar's JF-17s would use the Russian R-27 instead of the PL-12/SD-10 AAM. :crazy:

V2 is primarily a software upgrade and all radars on Blk-1 JF-17s were updated as well. As for R-27, first time hearing about R-27 on JF-17 but JF-17 has open architecture so any weapon can be integrated, its a possibility.

Such information, in the hands of enemies, would be vital in creating targeted jammers against Pakistani Thunders. I would rather receive confirmation from someone with more credible links to PAF/PAC.

Why are news of licensed production in Myanmar circulating? What are they going to license build just 16 planes now? Will it be even economical?
